Your opinion matters: color of stripes on a Kona Blue GT?

Ok ladies and gents,

I've been wanting to get stripes similar to the boss 302 style...the question is what color. I've seen the standard gloss white ... I hate it. I tought about going flat black but I love polishing my car and they say if polish gets on the flat black it ruins them.

I'm thinking of going with a color called "slate metallic".

This is the style of vinyl I want: 2010 Mustang C Stripe - Reverse

And this is the color: ** Graphic Express * Ford Mustang Stripe Kits and Decals - Mustang GT Boss Cobra Mach1 King Cobra Maverick Torino Pony Decals Shipping Specials (somewhere on that site).

I've scowered the internet for pictures and have seen gloss black, white, slate metallic, and flat black. I really thought about being bold and either going orange or "gotta have it green" or just play it safe.

Ideas, thoughts? Anyone seen anything different? Would it look good or just "PUKE!" I want to roll up to a stop light and have people "ooh and awe" vice "hurl and run!"

Thanks for your opinions.

(PS - after I have it on for awhile, I'm going to have it permanently painted. this is a test).

I am personally a fan of flat black the the silver metallic doesn't look bad either. The color of your car is one of my favorites already so it's a tough call when it comes to striping it

Not planning to do it until July. Still deep in thought. Are you putting them on yourself?

If I get mine I will do it myself, never done a big surface like that before but after watching a few YouTube videos not a problem and then I can say I did it myself

Tried posting some pictures from this thread but my phone will not cooperate. Check out the tread like halfway down the page. There are some good shots of the red stripes.

A couple pics of a black mach rocking the red stripes. Love that car..

Like the red. I saw one kind of like the convertable you posted...with the white pin striping on the outside.

Re: Your opinion matters: color of stripes on a Kona Blue GT?

Yeah, I've got my plates finally yesterday and installed them. Yellow may be the answer!!! I have to see if I can find a metallic yellow because I think it would go with the metal flakes in the kona paint? thoughts?
