I've had manuals and autos and Everytime I had an auto I wished it were manual. To each his own but with a manual I feel more connected to the car and it is more fun IMO. Anyone can drive an auto. It takes more skills to drive a manual and to drive it like it was meant to be driven.

No thats the way u measure it.. I dont ask a salesman hey what are the quarter mile times? I ask hey i need to drive it. Then i measure by if i get put back in my sit, how fast i can get to 60 and if i can throw it into a turn at high speeds, while being comfortable and looking good. Then wen im showing it off to my buddies ill google the times for fun. The 1/4 mile line is really getting old and ive never seen more than 3 people agree with u on a thread so jus give it a rest for once. We all know ur car runs 10s, cool. U still couldnt pay me to trade my car for urs.

When every magazine does test be motortrend or fast fords what first thing they test. 0-60 and 1/4 mile.

And not my fault you can't handle a fast car and would keep yours.

I had to drive it from LA all the way to Oakland Ca with clutch that is 3x harder than stock. I didn't really like autos much because I got borred on long trips but performance wise auto is better specialy for me that I usually use turbos and the auto holds boost better. For a DD I would get an auto because I like drinking my starbucks and eating my food on the go wich it a bit more complicated in a m6. Also if I drink to much my girlfriend can drive it shes my DD lol

Wow your pathetic! We don't care about your drag racing buddy, why are you still talking about it? Go to a drag forum so you can talk to other arrogant minds like yourself. You think your something because of a time slip and think your better than everyone else when in reality we couldn't care less about you or your car.

I disagree due to the fact that he's owned a full bolt on manual that then went FI and then traded on a full bolt on auto that also went FI so he's actually experienced both auto and manual with every possible power upgrade so he's at least talking from experience

And his opinion is that mustangs are about speed which I agree with... I didn't get one for mileage that's for damn sure but I personally like the manual despite the loss of potential 1/4 mile time.

Re: 2011 Mustang GT Buy

I would agree the fun factor is why I chose manual transmission. However, in those bumper-to-bumper congested highways, sometimes I say...wow it would be nice to have an automatic. But I would NEVER give up the driving "experience" for an auto!

It is all drivers preference. Perhaps those drivers who chose an auto is because they never learned to drive a stick?

+1 I hear the new auto tranny is a step up compared to previous Ford auto they've dropped in the Mustang.
