Need some feedback ASAP!

First i know it's always safer to flash back to stock when doing things with the SCT device........However,I wanted to know if it is okay (safe) to do the "auto-updates" on SCT site while leaving the car tuned ??? Anybody know ???
I just want to do updates because 2moro I plan to put on my O/R X-pipe and download the new tunes that were emailed to me.When I get to the shop and lift I am using and all of it put on I will return it to stock and then download the new tunes and go back and flash the car.

I had an issue when not returning to stock. It made my sct go crazy. Sct had to reset it for me. Luckily I had all tunes on my computer.

No. Always return to stock before using the sct program. Mine froze in the middle of the auto update (tuner froze not the program) and had to reload the whole OS. Took almost two hours to get it and the tube loaded. If I wouldn't have been returned to stock I would have been in for an (expensive) trip to ford for a reflash.

Also, I only do this during the week. If this happens during the weekend you're ****ed till Monday.

Re: Need some feedback ASAP!

Are the directions quite clear about resetting and going back to square one before updating the vehicle? I'm seeing a trend about the time it takes to download the program to be uploaded. I guess this is normal or only specific to a brand?

Yeah press the "return to stock" button on the tuner.

And yes, it takes forever. I usually write off an hour of my life any time I touch the sct.
