| Tuning file??
So a few weeks after buying my used 2011 gt, I ordered the sct tuner from Bama, only to find out that the car had some sort of a tune already. I was unable to use the Bama tunes till I had the dealer flash it back to stock. Well before I had my buddy who works for ford flash it back to stock, I saved the file name. I loaded the first of the three bama's tunes and I'm sad to say, I was disappointed. Tried the other two and I'm not really all that impressed. I found that the stradagey tune feels the strongest, especially at the low end rpm range. Well anyways, the thing that bugs me the most, is not knowing what tune it had before my buddy flashed it back to stock. Here is the file name....bzf1a80a11.vbf
Is this perhaps the file from fords pro cal tuner??
Very curious, because the car ran its strongest with that tune.

That is definitely something a dealer should have told you before you bought it, especially since they sold you a car with no warranty and probably told you you had x amount of warranty remaining.

I tried finding that info out, not that easy. All I got, was that the original selling dealer is somewhere in Michigan. When I asked the dealer I bought the car from, I was told the car is stock and had no tune. Really? Did a tech actually go as deep as checking the calib file stored in the ecm on the used car inspection? Lol highly doubt it. It would be nice to find the original owner though. :-/

Struego,
I'm sorry to hear you're unhappy with the Bama tunes! Have you tried taking a few datalogs of the car and sending them into Bama for adjustments/tweaks? Since each car has it's own characteristics, datalogs help a lot to show your cars behavior and how to tune accordingly. Also, if you decide to give Bama another shot, call in and ask to talk to our lead tuner Mike Wilson for a tune update. Explain, to the Bama specialists you weren't happy with your last tune and Mike was recommended to you by Shane on MustangEvolution.
Let me know if you get everything worked out. It will be a lot easier then trying to find where your mystery tune came from!
Shane
