Question 3M TAPE...

Is there a way to remove 3M tape? I want to remove a stuck on item and think, first how, and then how do you remove the adhesive? Goo-be-gone?

Ideas?

Being that your car is not very old I'll just about guarantee that you can just use ur thumb and rub it off of there.. I work at an accessory shop and have to do this just about everyday.. As far as removing whatever just use a plastic pry tool.. Or maybe spatula.. Pry around the edges then work your way towards the center

Re: 3M TAPE...

Awesome! I was also worried taking the part off may take some paint. I'll just be extra careful and take my time.

Yea, wd40 has so many uses, you could probably live off of it for a few days haha

(disclaimer: I kid, please do not eat or drink wd40, I'm sure it is harmful to your health)

Re: 3M TAPE...

fishing line after heating it up (hair dryer will work but dont get it TO hot as it can bubble the paint! just warm to the touch)

then after its off heat it up as it needs it and slowly roll what you can off with your finger. For whats left you can use wax (with kerosene in it) or rubbong compound, etc to pull off the sticky (go gone etc what ever works)

You'll never get it TOO hot w a hair dryer.. I use a heat gun which will instantly burn the hair off your skin and can leave it on one spot of the paint for 20 sec straight and done it for even longer (although not recommended).. Prolly won't even get as hot as it would sitting in a parking lot in the middle of summer.. But heating it up will definitely help..

Re: 3M TAPE...

I'm still in the Navy and deployed several times to the middle east. Anyways, some people are such alcoholics and need a drink no matter what (remember there is no alcohol in theater) that literally we had two people on separate occasions DRINK hand sanitizer. It has alcohol in it but the bad kind! Dumb a$$es will try anything for their addiction. Needless to say, they were medevaced back to the states.

See, if only we had WD40... who knows, the miracle cure all?

We even had one Marine die from huffing compressed air.
