2011 issues that bad?

New to the forum, been trying to research the '11 gt.....thinking about trading in my 08 but thinking twice. Is there really that many issues especially with the trans? Should I just stick with the '08?

There have been some issues for some people, I have had very little issue with mine, simple tranny fluid change helped mine tremendously. Many people have had trannies that are just fine. I think overall they are solid vehicles, but there are always the possibility of issues... I don't think you'd regret gettin an 11 gt though

Own one. Love it. Trans is a small worry, but the pros definately outweigh the cons. The lines of this car are so damn seductive. I always here from people how beautiful it is. Plus the motor is honey. It's a whole different animal from the '08.

Personally, I'd be concerned with buying a used one. That person might have traded in because they were tired of dealing with the tranny probs. That's me though, I tend to worry about that stuff too much sometimes. If I was buying a used one, I'd give it hell on the test drive to see how she did. And I mean up to 7000RPM cause I think that's where some have had issues shifting. It might make the salesman a little PO'd!

I wouldn't worry about the used too much. I bought mine used, however it was a lease return (which I found on CarFax). It doesn't matter the car, you could buy a Honda, which someone traded in due to issues.

Plus, Mustang Evolution is good place to get info that can help you get past your probs, like GrabberBlue5.0's tip w/the fluid change

Might not have liked it, wife might not have liked it, might had taken delivery and then financing fell through (this does happen), might have went to jail, died, become disabled, or any of another thousand reasons I could think of.

Bought my 2011 used with 17k last year. Aside from my tranby issues which are being handled under factory warranty, I love this coyote. Have no regrets. All cars have there issues, just can't ignore that. Definitely more pros then one con. It attracts attention almost every where I go. My mind was set on a camaro actually, but I figured I would stop at ford first and get a closer look at new mustangs. Well I never made it to Chevy, and drove my 2011 gt premium home. Best choice I've made all last year.
