3.7 to a 5.0?

Had big plans for my 6 and have quite a bit done to it, but now I'm considering a 5.0. I plan on deploying within a year and would like to possibly trade in my 12 when I get back or sooner. What did you guys pay for your GT's? If I got a 13-14 it would probably just be a base auto with recaros. Think I could get for under $30k or right around that point after taxes and all? Would I be better off selling my 6 before deploying or trading it in when I got back? Also, by the time I get back the 14 Mustang would be out and the 15 would be right around the corner. Any rumors on changes for the 14? Opinions? As I know you all have them

I would sell the 6er before you leave, less time for it to languish and you'd just be paying on it as well as insurance anyways.

Many of the mods you have made would fit on an 11-12 gt also right?

Just outta curiosity, why the change of heart? Not about going from v6 to GT but I thought you got the 6 so you could afford all the creature comforts as well, now you are saying base GT. not being an @$$ just wondering.

I like the looks of the 11-12 more also... But a 13 would still be cool too. Yr model will obviously determine price but I would say 30k wouldn't be bad for a new base GT

Sell the 6 get a 12 unless u really like the 13, personally they dont do it for me like the 12s and i feel like the 14+ are gonna just be awful to guys who want the mustang look. I paid 32 for my premium so 30 should be no prob!

Originally yes, I wanted all the comforts but now it rarely gets driven to enjoy those things so why have them? When I do get to drive it, it's more about driving and enjoying the car then listening to the radio. Plus with another deployment means more money And I do prefer the 11-12 body over the 13 and I may end up changing some of it. In particular the rear end and the rockers. I'm not for sure doing it but I am seriosly considering it. Love my 6 but the 5.0 is well... a 5.0!

I just traded my v6 for 5.0 yesterday, went through usaa's auto buying service and after all was said and done I got the base model w/ brembo and 19 tires for 26.5. So I'd say you'd have a pretty good chance getting the price you'd want

What year V6? Miles? And how much they give you on the trade? And you got a new or used 5.0?

Sell b4 you are deployed... sit on the money, then buy a used 5.0 when you get back. Let the GT depreciatea little more when you are gone!

Perfect idea! I was having my 08 v6 appraised for trade in value and they told me the longer I wait the more it will depreciate. Got the 5.0 in 2010 a few months after they came out for 27k, base with 3.73s

I did some work to the 6 and they gave me above blue book value for it

HEY! You have to start somewhere... Rather have a base Stang for 20k or less than an anything else in the 20k or less bracket

Sell before you deploy. Save all money while your deployed and have a good amount to put down. That or just trade now and make double payments while deployed on the new 5.0. I finished my 7th deployment in Nov. Now hoping to be healthy to deploy in March to afgan.
