Borla exhaust questions

So When I bought my car it already had a borla exhaust on it. It sounds nice but doesn't have that muscle car growl. Would an x-pipe fix this?

Re: Borla exhaust questions

Which Borla is it? They make 3 touring, S-type and atack. The S axle back satisfies most
most stang owners (especially with wife acceptance factor). The atack does have the the cabin drone @ cruise. they all make the same HP which is 1-3 over stock. It about the sound you prefer.

Re: Borla exhaust questions

There has to be a number you can call Borla with to find out what you have. No wife and you you like it loud go with atack and you and Jeff Gorden will sound very similar. Good luck. P.S. Borla is proud of their bits; many understand why, however, if that is an issue there are many others that will give you what want.

Good Luck Bennetstang

Re: Borla exhaust questions

Prochamber mid-pipe or an "H" pipe will give you what you want, not an "X" pipe, I don't think. Let me know if you decide to get rid of the Borla's, please.

According to David Borla at 01:45 of the video below, he states that all three of their exhaust setups have ZERO DRONE at any gear, rpm range auto or manual.

Re: Borla exhaust questions

I have talked to Borla several times. You will not know which one you have by looking or any measurement. If it's atak it will say on the bottom of muffler.I am speaking of 11-12 Borla's for the 5.0.If its catback "s" type w/ x-pipe you would not be complaining trust me.

Hey, no one is talking down to your model bro. They're just saying its different. I personally don't even know what a chamber is? Lol, jk but I'm sure some people here don't. I appreciate any help anyone offers and I'm sure these guys are the same. We don't need a model war erupting in the walls of this forum. We all need to pull together and take the fight to the real enemy outside these walls. Haha, I shoulda ran for President.

Drone usually occurs at a set rpm, not necessarily a certain speed

Do the magnaflows have a drone? Borla claims they do not. All I ever had in a Mustang has been flowmaster

Yes, I have heard many call them dronemasters because of their incessant drone

Re: Borla exhaust questions

My opinion is that this post, and your enthusiasm for improving the exhaust system is that you are treading on unexplored grounds. Previous opinions and results go right out the window when comparing to previous 5.0's and the various 4.6 builds. The Coyote is unique and you will be breaking down barriers as to what will happen with final results. The new 5.0 resulted in 30 HP increase with longtube headers. My opinion is that the Prochamber could eliminate the "crackle sound" the produce with stock mufflers.
-I love your car. It is in every way my dream car. Just, beautiful.
