Widest tire?

What's the widest tire I can fit on back of my 2010 gt? I won't be using the stock wheels

Some people have gone as wide as 315's... But they say you cannot lower it of you go that wide

A lot of that depends on what wheels you do use.. The offset of the wheel is the biggest issue..

Re: Widest tire?

I have a 2011 GT with 315/35-20 Nitto Invos on 11X20 Steeda Spyder rims and my car is lowered. Absolutely no rubbing or problems at all!

Re: Widest tire?

They fit so well that you would think they weren't put on the car on the Ford assembly line!

Re: Widest tire?

I will try to get one from almost ground level and directly behind tomorrow. Shots like that are tough to get cuz the lighting has to be perfect

Re: Widest tire?

Here, try this one for now. I have made other changes to the car since I took this, but the tires and rims are the same. I will try to get a better one from dead behind tomorrow.

No offense meant by this but I'm fairly certain the OP was referring to new body (10+)..

Yeah, I had been looking at those wheels for a while but their so damn expensive. I couldn't justify buying them... Until now. What brand of springs do you have? How low did you go? And can you tell me how the ride is? I've got a 2" drop and my ride sucks ***. I hate it. I'm going to swap over to a coil over setup before I buy wheels.

Yeah, I have Eibach ProKit springs and ProDamper shocks and struts on the car- Eibach says they lower it 1" front and 1-1/2" rear and that seems about right to me. Ride quality is great- hell, I am going to drive it from Milwaukee to Myrtle Beach, SC for Mustang Week this July and the thought of that doesn't even phase me. Ride is definitely firmer than stock, but not choppy or crashy at all.
My brother has a 2008 GT/CS that he has lowered 2" and he says his ride is sh** too, so I am very happy with how mine came out.

That sucks. I love my 2" drop. But something has to change. It's kinda embarrassing when chic's ride with me and they ask me, why is it so bumpy? I'm like, do you wanna walk? Lol

Re: Widest tire?

Did you do shocks/dampers too, or just springs?

Re: Widest tire?

One question, I just got my Black '13 GT/Premium delivered/with the optional 19 inch Premium Luster Nickle Painted Alumium wheels and Pirelli (P245/45 ZR19) tires on them. Love the wheel and wish I had went with the Brembos, but now that I have them, I would have liked to have a wider wheel in the rear. Can I change the rear Pirelli tires to wider ones and install them on the stock rear wheels. Or, am I going to have to purchase a new set of aftermarkets wheels with the width I am looking for.

I was kind of looking for a 265 or 275 tire on the rear. I think even a 265 would make a big difference over the stock 245's. I would love to keep the stock wheels if possible, since I already paid an additional $1000 for that option. Any suggestions or tips of the day would be appreciated.
