Under hood piece painting opinions

Hell guys and girls. I need opinions on what pieces to paint under my hood. Going for a red on black theme from what you can see in the pic with the coil covers. I am thinking the shrouds I have over the battery and the brake cylinder and the fuse box while painting the strut covers of the brace black. Let me know your opinions thanks.

I say paint the Cold Air Intake Tube and the Strut Bar! Also Some of the box covers that are removable!

So.it looks as good as it runs. Some of us do car shows and race.

Why put a spoiler on it, or cs front valance or GT500 rear deffuser. Just cause it looks good.

Being a woman, and a grandmother at that, I am way more concerned with how my car looks and sounds than souping it up for a track I will probably never see. That's just me. Everyone is different.

Re: Under hood piece painting opinions

Once again we all come from different aspects, not meaning to offend, but no go not getting my $$$$$$. I can see your point just not for me. Nor any of my friends i.e. Fake brake scoops will slow the car down @ 70 plus don't get. Rear window lovers take air off the spoiler. and the pedestal spoiler does create more down force. It would not be standered on the BOSS or LGS. Remember who had input on this stang PJ's

Spoiler weighs more, and the spoiler on the boss don't create that much down force and it don't come with pedastal spoiler. And like the op we both have superchargers. We got our money worth. But as said most us want to look good also. If just worried about speed then rip out all the interior to include dash.

I do see your point, and no offense taken. Personally, I don't care for the looks of the louvers or side scoops...nor do I like the pedestal spoiler. Less is more.

I don't like louvers or side scoops either. If I did any it would be the silverhorseracing ones that are on the cobra jet.

Re: Under hood piece painting opinions

Sorry to all that took a fence just one of my things. America has always been about non functional bits. I'm much older than most of you, no grand kids yet, but could have. You will be hard pressed to name things on a european car that does not work. Thank God the new heat vents are functional!!!!!!!!!!

Alright so first of all I have three pics here one is of the reason I make my car nice looking. The second is a pic of the 7300 dollars I have spent on go fast stuff and the last pic is the proof on the dyno. Yes it's a queen until I get it on the track however I do participate in car shows every week and no offense taken but when I ask for opinions on something if you don't have one to help out my in sight on looks then voice your opinion in the bar section of this site. This is a technical portion of the site and as in the rules you will stay on the topic of the thread.

Now I like the idea of painting the intake pipe UA black. Makes a lot of sense. The plastic shrouds over the battery and the brake cylinder I am thinking of painting red the same as the coil covers and going red on the fuse panel cover. The strut tower brace attachments I am thinking black so that looks smooth. Thanks to those who stayed on topic.

How much boost you on? Almost made same power as me. But I was on stock exhaust. I will be putting mine back on dyno for some more tuning now engine is broke in some.

I am running on 9 psi. Best octane I can get is 92 so I would be good for another 20 at least on 93 octane. Plus my a/f is still conservative at a 12:1, 11:1 in some spots. They are still working the tune for kill at idle issue.

Cool..you should be able to pull of a easy 10 sec pass if you hook.

Yeah I might need to step down to 3.55s to hook. I am going to put bigger meats on the back and get my suspension squared away and see if I stick. If not I will be on my way to 3.55s. FYI I have 373s right now

This is the most baffling question I have seen in quite sometime.. Lol the same reasons you do any cosmetic mod to any car.. To make them look better, make them your own and stand out from the crowd..

Tell ya what if my car runs slower in the qtr (or around a track) than another w exact same options minus Louvers I'll give you $100 . Things like that only make a big difference in excess of 175...

Wow I seriosly just watched your video a week ago! Was in love with the sound haha Also Maybe you should paint the 5.0 badge if you still have it on. Good luck in your car show!

Thanks I have my 5.0 badges painted gun metal to match the rim color. I have a fox body 5.0 supercharged badge I am going to be putting under my hood once I get the paint work done. I think I am ordering the gloss black intake tube and I am going to be sanding and painting the battery, brake cylinder, and fuse panel covers red. I think that will set it off nicely without red being on top of red.

Lmao it's a mind set. It changes as we mature. I used to take every light like it was my 1/4 Mile and yes I thought the looks of the car were EXTREMELY important lol but that was years ago, now I just drive to enjoy. I'm
In traffic 95% of the time anyway
