Bama tune question

Just curious as to what tune most people run on their cars....I had it on street for a bit then on performane...but for some reason when I go wide open and shifting gears my check engine light flashes and it sputters afterwards...I got a random misfire code and a cylinder #1 misfire code. I sent a datalog to American muscle just waiting to hear back....so im just wondering what tune people are running.

Honestly sounds like the air fuel is off. Tune needs to be fine tuned

I had the same exact problem. I called bama with my dtc's and they took a few hours to go over the tune. Later that day, they emailed me an updated tune. I uploaded the new tune, and the mil lite stayed off, however the car would stall of I gently tapped on the gas pedal. Basically, creepin up at a stop light the car would stall. I have yet to call back and ask for yet another modified tune to cure that problem. I went ahead and did a stradagy tune and I'm very pleased with it. It feels stronger then the bama tunes, and I have no drivability issues. Till I get on a dyno I won't know for sure. Also I'm hesitant to use the bama tunes till I get an air/fuel meter. I'm worried I may break something running there tunes.

Kind of sounds like a problem I had. Turns out I was misfiring because of a missing "O" ring on one of the fuel injectors. Get it checked ASAP. I'm running a 91 race tune and my mods are boss manifold, jlt intake.

Canned email tunes won't be perfect for everybody, at least bama cares and wants to correct the problem in an urgent manner. My tune from them is awesome, a guy at blow by racing actually had to call bamas head tuner and talk to him about how spot on it was... I was making more hp than others with same mods As me but they had a boss manifold while I was still on the stocker.

2013GTStang,

I apologize for the inconvenience with your Bama tunes, it sounds like there is defiantly something going on here. I am pleased to hear that you are working with my bama team. I would like to get you in direct contact with my head tuning specialist Mike Wilson. I am confident that he will be able to get you squared away with just a few peeks at your datalog.

Shoot me over a PM with your order # & I will have mike call you this afternoon to get you taken care of.

Thanks for sticking it out with us while we get you taken care of, We greatly appreciate it!

- Dan

Struego,

This does not sound like Bama. There is something going on with your tune that needs to be corrected! I want to apologize for the inconvenience & get you taken care of in a timely fashion.

Can you also shoot me over a PM with your order #? I want to have my head tuning specialist Mike Wilson pull your tune files & get this taken care of!

I don't want this to ruin our relationship with you guys. We value every single customer so I am going to get you guys squared away immediately.

You both should be enjoying your tunes in no time!

Thanks!

- Dan

See what I'm saying? Bama is definitely top notch with customer service, if I'm correct they event have a warranty on their tunes with the 8th cylinder that other tuners seem to destroy.

There limits to warranty. Read fine lines. And some don't need a warranty to get people to want there tune.

We actually offered the warranty after selling thousands of tunes. The warranty wasn't put in place to gain customers, but to offer peace of mind. We offer high quality tunes, but at the volume we do, things happen. 90% of the feedback that you'll read about us is going to be positive, but it's about how we react to the 10% that counts.

Our tunes have been tested time and time again against our competitors and we stack right up. We R&D all of our tunes in-house on our Dynojet 224xLC as well as hours of street testing and logging, and hundreds of track passes.

Rest assured that our tunes are going to be quality, safe tunes and we don't need any other "draw". Since we sell about 20 times the amount of tunes as our closest competitor, there should be 20 times the amount of feedback out there.

We'll always do our best to be perfect the first time for every customer, but if we screw up a few out of 1,000 - we'll do everything we can to make the customer trust us again and get their car running spot-on!

Question isn't your customer service or how safe tunes are. Its how they truely stack up. Funny no one post hey I went 11's with nothing but a tune and tire like they do with other tunes. Such as lund/livernois/jpc. No one post hey I made record setting passes of any kind with your tunes. As ya your tunes add some power they are not top food chain for those wanting best out there for performance.

We have plenty of customers running in the 11's with tires, our tune, drop-in air filter and nothing else. There really is very little difference in horsepower/torque from tuner to tuner. There's just not that big of a difference in performance. The only difference is that the tuners you named spend their time focusing on blown cars and serious builds, and that's not what Bama does. We do that stuff for fun on the side, but our focus is keeping OUR customers happy, while they keep theirs happy.

Here's a guy that tested our tunes vs. one of the tuners you mentioned: Lund Racing VS Bama - My 5.0 Tuning Experience - MustangForums.com

However, for every time we are favored, there's probably a thread where someone likes someone else better. It's just a matter of preference.

I guarantee if you took all of the tunes available for a certain year/model Mustang with bolt-ons and put it on the dyno, every one of us would be nearly identical.

You're comparing us to people who purposely go out and build their name in the racing industry. That's not our thing, so we don't do it. We are more about how the car performs on the street, driveability, throttle response, shifting, etc. Our tunes will run with anyone's out on the track (and already are), but it's just not what we focus our marketing around, because at the end of the day something tiny like 1-5% of people who buy a Mustang actually go to the track.

Hope this helps you understand!

Funny on the thread on s197 a crap load others posted how their tune made more whp with no issues with same mods as him. And ran better at the track in worse conditions.

Why you have great customer service on a lot of stuff. The tunes fall short when looking to get the most out the car.
I think that there's plenty of people running our tune who disagree with you, but it really doesn't matter. They're happy and obviously you're happy with your tune.

I'm not going to argue with you, we're going to bow out of this thread.
