Getting tint tomorrow...need opinions!!!

So tomorrow I go to get some tint put on my car. It's white with a matte black stripe, what do you guys think would look best? I'm getting 5% on the back 3 but I'm undecided on the passenger and driver. Should I go 5%, 15%, or 20%? Here's my car and I'm not worried about legality.

Would help to know roughly where you live or drive the car...
Out here in Arizona (The Valley of the SUN), we go with as much protection as we can. I used Llumar Ceramic as dark as the law allows on the sides and "limo dark" on the back. Here it is legal to tint the front. I used Blue Air 80 which is also ceramic. If it's not legal to tint the front in your state, there may be an exclusion if you have a note or presription from your doctor with his concerns about you and skin cancer. Then it's usually legal. The point for us out here is keeping the heat and the UV's out of the car. I think the Llumar ceramic tint does the job as best it can be done. I think I paid around $315. See Llumar's website at Llumar Window Tint - Automotive and check My Garage to see what mine looks like. Good luck and enjoy every day!

I have 15 all the way around on my Hyundai. My Mustang is getting tinted Thursday and I'm getting 15 on the front windows and rear windshield and 5 on the quarter windows. 15 is dark enough for the fronts IMO. When I'm turning at night I can't see curbs out of my front windows. When I'm backing up at night I can't see my side mirrors. Seeing other cars is not a problem as long as they have their lights on. I live in Florida and my black car stays pretty cool. The only time it gets really hot or you can really see inside the car is when the sun is shining through the windshield. When it's dark or cloudy people can't see in the car at all.

I went 20% all around and it has worked great. No super heat and still maintaining visibility at night. Hope it wasn't too late for my 2 cents! Post pictures after its done!

Is there a way to check the % cuz I don't know what mine is and it is hard to see in even during the day, and I don't need to turn the thing on my mirror to dim the headlights behind me.

If its not too late I'd say 20%. Are you in Atlanta by chance?

I've worked at a tint/accessory shop for 4 1/2 years.. W my experience I would say 15% all around.. Your not gonna be able to see a thing if you go any darker than that on the rear.. Backing up especially.. I have 15% all around and would never go darker.. If I have to back up in an unlit area I have to hang my head out the window to see.. thats my personal/professional opinion.. And if you have the option Llumar film is the only way to go..

Limo of course, all others let too much sunlight into your car damaging your dashboard

Unless your windshield is tinted then your not helping your dash board very much.. For that I would suggest some 80% ceramic tint on the windshield.. Can barely tell its there and most protection and heat resistance.. I might be wrong but I don't think you have "limo" tint.. That looks like 10-15%...

Well people base tint levels different. I see a lot of percentages but here in Cali bay area everyone goes by 1-5, 5 being the darkest is what I had in my v6 before

No.. Tint is based off of percentages.. they may say 1-5 over there but that's just something that someone came up with.. Like how a girl is based on a 1-10 scale lol... 15%= 85% of visible light is blocked.. Only 15% of visible light passes through..

That is true.. worked at a tint shop for 4 1/2 years.. The tint is still percentages they've just one up w some sort of rating system.. Like your #5 was prolly 5-10%.. And a #4 prolly around 15-20%... And so on..

Why is everyone using 2 or 3 different tints on a car? Just wondering

Usually so they can go as dark as possible on that window.. Different windows have different laws.. Like in AR 25% is legal on the front two windows and as dark as 10% on anything behind that..

Oh gotcha never delt with that in NC... Every window on a car has to b 35%. my shelby is 20%.. However on a truck the driver and passenger is supposed to be 35% and any rear windows can b as dark as u want. I just thought several percentages of tint may make a car look uneven

Where in NC are you? And cops ever given you a problem? I'm gonna get mine done in a few weeks and since I don't have to worry about getting my car inspected again I'm thinking about goin with 20% as well

Cops used to b really bad about window tint but don't seem to care too much now. I put 20% on the Shelby because it had black interior which helps to make the tint even darker. I only drive my Shelby maybe twice a week but have a powerstroke I drive daily with 5% over the factory 20% and never had any problems.. I'm right outside Charlotte.

I got pulled over in charolette in my old truck that had limo. Cop pulled me over for a brake light and then noticed the windows and then proceeded to compliment me on my truck and we talked for about 30 more minutes. He said that usually they won't pull people over for tint as long as they're not being stupid. Like he said, there are bigger problems out there than tint lol
