Re: Glass roof

I saw one on the lot ... pretty cool. But, supposedly very heavy and affects center of gravity a bit.

I've got the glass roof, honestly while the weight might give it the slightest increase in body roll, it's completely worth it. Probably the first thing everyone notices when they see my car.

Re: Glass roof

To each their own...if you like it...great! After all, we all strive for a one-of-a-kind! That's just one way yours stands out from the herd.

Now as a glass top owner, how do you keep all that glass clean!?!

Windex it's pretty easy the roof windshield and rear window one after another doesn't get dustier any faster then the black paint my car is wrapped in. I enjoy the added natural light in the car and it isn't a popular option so I stick out a little more then others. I bought mine used 10k miles on it so I never saw the direct 2k from the invoice but as stated above to each is their own

They look nifty, but it's like a convertible without the fun aka pains . . .

I just prefer the convertible myself

They say the glass is stronger then the metal roof cause of how thick it is.

The pillars framing and metal supports are all the same whether u have a glass roof or a normal roof only difference is sheet metal or a glass roof that is built the same way as a windshield no shards small pieces and if u wear ur seat belt u won't be laying in safety glass or worse ejected from the vehicle.

General comment: You really don't think ford would offer a novelty that would take a chance in dropping the crash ratings on these cars really.

Re: Glass roof

Define "very heavy" ... my car with a glass roof still weighs in under 3700 lbs, which is right in line with cars without glass roofs (3650 being a pretty common estimate of weight for those cars.) I also have Navi and the comfort package, so I guess "very heavy" is relative (and I still crush Camaros regularly. lol!)

Cleaning it is no issue (it's actually a big space that I don't have to put polish/sealant/wax on when I wash) using a quality glass cleaner, and with an SPF rating of 50+, it's never an issue to have the glass exposed, letting the sun shine in ... what can I say? I'm not at all sorry I chose this option ...

Ford weights for these cars are not right. My manual base only weighed 3480. My auto premium only weighed 3610. Both was with full tank gas as well. With 1/4 tank auto dropped under 3590 and manual was under 3450.

Yeah a little non-streak windex and you smack anyone who puts their grimy fingerprints on the inside of it. Other than that pretty easy to maintain. And I love the open air feel rather than most coupes which feel really claustrophobic.

I have the glasstop and love it. Every thing bad said about them is just plain dumb. It doesnt effect the way the car performs in anyway possible. Its just a cosmetic. And they didnt charge me any extra for it but then again i bought the car used lol

With out me in them. I have weighed both mine several times on certified scales.

To say it weighed 3700lbs with premium auto with me in it just isn't happening. Specially with glass roof. I'm 210.
