Wheels

I have 2012 5.0 and I want to get some new wheels for it. My only concern is the width. I want the rear once to be wide, at least 305. I saw an older mustang with 315s and it looked sick. So what's the widest I can go on my car. I want to get 19s but if I can't, I will settle for 18s...

To run a 305 or 315 you well neem new rims, and it all depends how much you wanna spend, I have CCW 505A on my GTO and love them but they are not cheap, I run a 19x9 275/35/19 front and a 19x11 out back 335/35/19

19" tires are very expensive with a smaller selection. That said I have 19's and I love them. Many people on here are running 305's too do they should definitely fit, just make sure you have a good backspacing

Re: Wheels

if you want a 305-315 wide tire you will need to get a 10.5 -11 in rim (10.5 should work), if you go any smaller (a 10 wide rim a 295-305 is fine) or a 9 wide (265-285).

DONT buy tires that are to wide or to narrow.... that just defeats the purpose to begin with. I have 10 wide with 295's works great, fits great as well.

Just to make it MORE confusing than it already is.... EVERY tire manuf has a different "system" for determining how wide a tire ACTUALLY is. So.... some run more narrorw some are wider. You will have to research to find out depending on what brand you go with.

Well, how wide can I go when it comes to width of the rim? Would it be ok to get 11inch without any rubbing. I just want to go as wide as I can without having any problems

RuSSiaNStuDD,

Great choice! I would agree that you need to get a big sticky tire under your stang!

I would recommend a 19x10 & strap a 305 Drag Radial do it, you should hook up great with that & wont have any fitment problems!

A 11in' wide wheel may be difficult to find, especially in a 19in rim. We have never test fit anything bigger then a 10in wide wheel on the 11+ because that is whats most common!

I hope this helps! Best of luck on your decision!

Re: Wheels

I just got Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial II's P305/35R18 on Dale Earnhardt Jr Killer Wheels for the strip but not every day since they would only last as long as an oil change.
