Any check engine lights? Possible Problem with tune? Slow throttle response? Could be any number of things? Can you be more specific to what it's doing?

If you are in a state that uses ethanol in the fuel and it sits for more that a week that can cause it. I've found that sta-bil does well. Not sure if it will fix it, but its worth a try.

Check engine light, did you buy it new or used? I ask because there are a few guys that have bought used ones that are tuned and they didn't know it

Does it feel the same with Traction Control off as it does on?

Re: hesitation when gettin on it

If I have all of the traction nannies on and try to just mash the gas, more often than not, the car will begin to rev hard and then the acceleration will come to a crushing halt as trac control desperately tries to manage the wheel spin that's coming ...

And with respect to a CAI that doesn't require a tune, remember that your car comes from the factory with a very solid cold air intake already installed -- my suggestion is to save your money until you're ready for a tune, and then do a CAI and tune together (heck, you may even want to skip an aftermarket CAI, depending on your budget, since 95% of the power gains you'll get from a CAI/Tune combo will come from the tune ...) And yes, a tune will greatly improve throttle tip-in, if that's what is bothering you rather than your acceleration bogging ...

Re: hesitation when gettin on it

I've had this happen a few times: I agree with the traction control assessment (mine is a '13 GT manual). I turn that stuff off and...it pulls strong and steady to redline 1st thru 3rd (havent had a good stretch of road to test 4th -6th...hard to get over 100mph anywhere around chicago traffic during rush). I consistantly get the wheels to break loose going into 4th, however.

Haha its tru though lol when I bought this car I was interested in a camaro (ima a Chevy man at heart ) but decided to give mustang a try and liked it better I didn't even know 5.0 was coming out until after I paid my first car note I've been reading on the subject and think its traction controll and factory programing and getting a CIA and tune will help

Ha I done the same thing. Test drove the SS first I just can't stand the way they look honestly. Then a week later test drove the stang and well you know the outcome. I'm a Chevy man at heart I just don't like the newer ones. But the last 3 vehicle I bought were ford. So guess I'm a blue oval man on the outside. Sry OP it does sound like bad gas to me.

Id say get a tune. I don't know of any "bad gas" that only causes hesitation between 25-2800 in 1st.

Re: hesitation when gettin on it

I'm having similar issues now that I've started tinkering with tunes. Not sure what could cause it if yours is stock other than your traction control being a nanny.
