93 when I can find it, which is most of the time but sometimes I can only get 92... I usually run a 91 tunes because I fear detonation lol and I don't want the ever changing temp and humidity here to lower my octane, otherwise I would use 93 tune and octane allllll the time

---------- Post added at 10:28 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:26 AM ----------

From what I've read most of these tunes lock out the variable timing, but Lund has created tunes that will still incorporate variable timing! Anyone else heard this? Thinking about getting a Lund tune

No, they have 93 all over the place, but it I'm. It paying attention sometimes I'll go to a gas station that only has 92. Really depends on the gas station and the county

---------- Post added at 10:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:57 AM ----------

KY has more counties than any other state so you can only imagine how often I find myself outside of my home county lol.

Back in the day we could go to Sunoco in the Chicago area and put 98 in this baby. Sure wish Sunoco was still around like it was in the 70's.

Re: Gasoline

Is it better to run gas that isn't 10% ethanol? I've been looking around here (chicago area) and it seems every station is at least 10% ethanol...

Ethanol is bad, if you can find a place that has 100% gas, def go there everytime

Re: Gasoline

I have a stock 2010 GT. I believe I have noticed a difference in the amount of get up and go with premium octane. I also did a little experiment with gas mileage and looks like the premium won out - normally with a $0.20 difference the premium is worth the extra mileage.

I have the same car and it does improve torque a bit, especially when really stepping on it. It's worth it to me as well.

Re: Gasoline

FML not a single station within 120miles of the city limits of Chicago. Sh*t!

----

And this is why: http://www.epa.gov/otaq/fuels/gasoli.../rfg/areas.htm
Chicago is in a clean air act region. If you cannot find regular gas in your area, I'll bet it's because you're in one of these regions. If you compare the two maps, you can almost draw the outlines of the areas from EPA map on the pure-gas.org map.

Screwed if you're between Boston and D.C...the Chicago area to Milwaukee...St Louis...Louisville, KY... Cincinnati, OH...Houston, Dallas-Ft Worth, and almost all of California.

Re: Gasoline

What brand gasoline is best to use. I stay with Mobil/93 octane. Would Sunoco or Shell be a better quality gas.

Mines at the marina about 16 miles north . I don't think I could get my car around to their pumps but I got the app so when I'm in that area I can find E0

Lol my g/f lives in the hood, or at least I have to cross the worst gutter of town to get there and my shiny red car stands out like u can't imagine... I'm so nervous all the time passing thru, to be around ppl who dont value their lives and have nothing to lose... and not to mention how bad the actual roads are, they don't fix or maintain them at all, I'm afraid I'm gonna crack my suspension or wheels :-/ so yea Im forced to leave to stang at home and luckily I have my trusty DD the blends in nicely and keeps the haters away

Re: Gasoline

Okay, I use 91 octane in my 2013 Mustang GT because it is very hard to find 93 octane gas in the state of Nebraska. If you are driving on the country roads, 89 is usually the max you can find.

Anyways, I found out using that website that there are two stations in my town that offer ethanol-free gas, but those stations are not listed on the Top Tier Gasoline Website.

I always go to Shell because they have the nitrogren-enriched 91 octane v-power with 10 percent ethanol. Shell is also listed on the Top Tier Gasoline website.

My question is, which gas should I get? The ethanol free from the mom and pop chain, or the top tier shell gas with ethanol in it?
