Anyone ever seen this before?

So now that I have figured out how to get images in here. Check out what I found when I looked under my 2010 GT. My uncle who is a head service technician with 20+ years experience at Ford gave it to me straight. He thinks its a muffler shop job. The stock a/b doesn't have any welds. He seems to think that someone cut the stock pipes (see the barcode label) and welded it and the stock hangers to some random muffler. There are no markings to indicate brand. So what do you guys think of this?

I had figured with all the a/b systems that there wouldn't be a need or welding. Dont get me wrong the sound isn't too bad, but it could definitely be a lot better that's for sure. It is a used car though.

Flow master axle backs can run over 400 bucks... Thrush welded mufflers (I'll bet that's what they are on there) are like 35 a piece and are clones of flow masters. The muffler show where I love charges the same wether they're welding it on or bolting it on so I can see why this person went this route.

Wow I never thought of that, do you think it would be better to get the outlaws, the tips on my current exhaust dont fill the space on my bumper and it looks lame.

Re: Anyone ever seen this before?

Clones of flowmasters except, they are made of crap aluminized steel and, obviously, need a little fiddling to get them in. Don't get me wrong, Dronemasters ain't the cat's *** but, the build quality is significantly better than these things.

If you have an extra $500.00 You can get stingers or something made to fit correctly.

I think that's what I'm going to do is get flowmaster outlaws so I can have something that was designed for the car. That and the sound will be better based on what I heard online.

Goy who owned it before might have owned a welder. I have several friends that wouldn't have a problem at all doing this. At least they didn't butcher the stock hangers. My friends would have just cut the stock muffler and made sure to leave the bolted connection for an axle back setup. Did they leave this for you?

Well I bought the car from a dealer and it had 2 previous owners although one didn't have it very long. I asked the dealer if it was a stock exhaust and the guy was obviously wrong. It sounds different, and like I said not bad, but I really want the flowmasters. I want to know what I'm working with. For tuning and stuff down the road.

Definitely a good idea. You should be able to upgrade to an axle back setup as it looks like they just did a cutout and replace. I like Borla stingers myself. There is a lot vids on YouTube that might help you decide. Good luck with your modding bro!
