Still about the same as the starting msrp an SRT8 392, which it'll handily smoke.

they are not limited, limited means ford said we will build X and thats it, Ford will build as many as they can sell.... anyone that pays that much over sticker is just tossing it in the trash.... I can see paying sticker but no more.

Aren't they numbered? Meaning limited?

Just because they're numbered doesn't mean their limited. I think they're number just so that the lower numbered ones can be sold for more money and hold their value better.

Re: Markup for the Boss

My dealership does the markup as well. They say its because of the "limited" number made for SVTs and Boss's which you can order one completely how you like it, and they will build it so these vehicles aren't "limited" at all. I asked my salesman why they did that, and honestly it is because they feel that they deserve the extra money because they have the ability to get them, but more often than not they do not get most of that mark up if any at all. So fight them, if they tell you its mandatory to purchase the car/truck.

Re: Markup for the Boss

That's a dealer to avoid. My dealer had 4 inside the showroom--one of which was a Laguna Seca--the day I bought my GT. These forced the Roush & Saleen cars outside. No markup on any of them.

Yup! There is three in my city and one was bought for 80,000 and the other two were bought for 75,000 and 77,000. The only thing I like about the USA is the cheap price of cars! My local dealer has a 2012 roush rs3 and they are asking 80,000 and they will get it because you just don't see them here.

I got mine for just above invoice. For 2012 and 2013, ford said they would only make roughly 4000 each year. 2012 they made about 4016 and i would expect it to remain true for 2013.

Re: Markup for the Boss

Ironically, I just shared part of my commute home with one yesterday. Both of us still sporting paper tags.

I know I'm a bit jaded in my area. The first weekend I had my GT, there was a Boss just as new at the weekly car meet (I was at 200 miles, he was at 500...and had a flat).

Can you not just order them from ford and skip the dealer mark up?

I see on the sticker the Boss has the MT82 tranny. I thought they had a T56 in them. I thought the GT's had the Getrag.

you can, but unless you sign a contract saying that you will buy the car and this is what you will pay, they can still add the markup. just like you have the right to back out of buying an ordered car, they still have the right to mark it up without a preapproved contract on both ends

What's the point of the sticker if they are just going to piss ppl off by telling them they can't have it for that..

If ppl would stop over paying for cars in general then I don't believe this would be such an issue..
Used to be in a tough economy ppl would fix cars not buy new ones..

That's the truth so long as they can find someone to buy it marked up they won't sell it at sticker. I worked at a NJ Ford dealership about 4 years ago. We got in a brand new GT500KR, sticker was about $82,000 and I found out it sold for $115,000 before it was even taken off the truck. I may be a huge Mustang fan but there are much better cars to spend $115k on.

That's a big pile of cash! I would love to pick one of theses up. All I would have to do is sell my house and live in the Boss... Easy enough right?

Interesting market too, thanks for posting this up OP!

I was looking to buy a used Boss in about 5 years. Looks like they'll still be out of range.

Re: Markup for the Boss

Just visited my dealership yesterday (long story, see my SCT thread under americanmuscle)

They had a '13 Boss with ~1,500 miles on it. Guys told me they'll take 5k off the top because it's been driven. School bus yellow, still in brand new shape. They want 36,000 for it as-is...and I think that's about the perfect price for one. Rohrman's in Schaumberg, Il, if you're interested.

Send me a PM and I'll get you in to touch with the salesman that I bought my GT from.
