You can break the small tabs off and use 3 mil automotive tape to install. Doesn't have to be bolted in.

Or, you COULD bolt it on using 1/2" galvanized lag bolts from Lowe's.

Ehhh, unless it is really heavy, I would rather just use 3M tape. That way if I ever change my mind I don't have holes in my trunk.

You'd be setting a new trend, you could sell wine corks "for those hard-to-fill mistakes", right next to the plastic spinner hubcaps in the ricer isle in Autozones across the country.
