2013 Rear Blackout Decklid

You know the one that is on the back of your trunk in between the taillights.

Anyone seen these for sale on the internet?

As far as I know they haven't hit anywhere, but you can get one from Ford.

Re: 2013 Rear Blackout Decklid

You will have to drill holes in the trunk lid to install also I here there are many clips in the back. Some one had a pic of there trunk with the panel off already, to bad its not like the 2010-2012 pc.

Why...cut the clips off and 3M the entire thing. That is all you see when looking at the trunk.

Re: 2013 Rear Blackout Decklid

The finish is nearly identical to what's on the Boss 302's. I have yet to run into someone that figured out what it is until I point it out to them.

Would u consider the matte black vinyl that comes on the GT/CS and Boss? Thats definitely OEM and I'm sure easier to keep clean...

looking at the 2013 it doesn't appear that the rear emblem would have to be removed rather this would fit over it and secure the already factory emblem. IDK though.

I was at the dealer the other day getting my Escape serviced so I asked the parts department about it. Of course the lady behind the counter had no clue and brought up a sticker kit. Whatever, I'll try again. LOL

Sucks... they're no help most of the time and they're just gonna ask for ur vin#.... I guess if u just find out the part# u might have a shot... I considered that part myself, but it seems to fit flush with the 13 tailights. It might stick out a little too much with the 10-12 taillights... it has some thickness like the blackout panels, so that's another thing to take in consideration. That's why I went with a vinyl instead

That's the other thing, I'm trying to find out if it will look right on a 2012. Otherwise it is all for nothing. I'll go another route than vinyl if I need to.

Cervinis.com has the 10-12 decklid filler panel which you could easily gloss and its flush with the taillights

Where did you get said plasti-dip? What's the prep work like for that? Can you just spray it on or do you have to sand it or whatever?

You should at least clean the surface with their prep spray for better adhesion.

Woops. Thought I typed this out.

Yes strip all wax grease and whatever else that way off said surface first.

I didn't sand or strip anything. Did it earlier this year and made it through many auto car washes (when I was lazy).
