Saleen Powerflow Hood installed!!

It's finally done! Taking it back to the body shop to be refinished one more time when I get the C/S spoiler put on but her new face lift looks great! love it.

That looks great man! Do you have any pics of the underside of the hood? Does the hoods scoop have anything in place to prevent water from getting in?

Very nice. I like the lines of the hood. Blends well with the car.

I need the screen but it won't come in until December. It rained pretty hard the day I got it and it didn't come in as bad as I thought it would, and that's without the screen insert.

They finished and painted it with something different. Doesn't heat up as easily? It feels rough almost like a rhino truck liner

Now make your own screen for it. Just buy some, cut it to fit and paint it then fasten it on.

First, both cars look great!
I had a Saleen heat extractor on my old 95GT and never installed any screens.. Never had an issue and the open slots were almost directly over the distributor.. That said, if Saleen has screens that will be available soon, wait.. It will be worth it... It's very rare to see ppl DIY screens or vent covers that look nearly as good as a manufactured piece..

Yea... That's what I am worried about. It looks good without the screen for now so that's what I'll probably do, until the manufacturer screen comes. The water issue isn't as bad as I thought it would be.

I love it and don't really have the option financially to get a 5.0 right now so I'm happy. What did you trade it in for?

C'mon.. You could even put Georgia stickers on the stripes. all joking aside white and black are the most common.

That hood looks great! Definitely wait for the screen. I agree with deadspot, the custom fabbed ones typically don't look good.

Re: Saleen Powerflow Hood installed!!

Despite other people voicing concerns about the hood opening and water, I can tell you for a fact it's not that bad. I got caught in a severe thunderstorm coming home from Carlisle a few weeks ago. There was some water on top of the intake but it took me all of 5 minutes to clean things up. If you drive your car every day and frequently get caught in rain, it might be an issue. If you have more of a fair weather car, it's really not an issue.

To those all worried about water getting in, what do you think happens through the grill opening? Everything under the hood is waterproofed.
