Anyone else have problems with the rockers getting sandblasted? My car has 12,xxx miles on it now and it already looks worse than my other 3 vehicles (Mazda w/ 46k, Chevy w/ 71k, and a Jeep w/ 161k). At the rate it's going, there won't be ANYTHING left when I get to 50k, and it shouldn't look this bad already. I paid an extra $700 for the 3M covering when I got the car but they didn't put any down there. I wish I would have known it was going to do this or I would have installed some of that stuff down there myself!! I don't think the paint is holding up!
This is why I installed splash guards on my car (front and rear) -- not as much to prevent water splashing (well, that too) but with the sticky summer tires I'm inclined to run on this car, they grab all kinds of road debris.
I think splash guards also tie the wheel wells nicely into the rest of the car, so bonus there ...
Gotta clean that too when you wash your car. I also use a clay bar, but mine are painted. Just did it yesterday with <5K miles and it was covered in crap, despite regular wash-wiping. Not sure about '11 style trim though.

I have never driven on a gravel road with this car. The location of the tires to the rockers is the problem. I'm 100 percent the '13s will have the same problem. I'm working with the dealer now, waiting on a response. Either way, I'm going to install some heavy gauge clear 3M over it when its done. For you guys with brand new cars off the lot, this is your warning.
