I just installed a JLT cold air intake on my 2012 Ford Mustang GT with a Bama performance tune. I've driven the vehicle for about three days and now the wrench light has come on and the car seemed not to want to go over 30 mph. Has anyone had this problem before. I did remove the sound tube when I installed the CAI and used the supplied gromments to seal the intake. Being so late at night I wasn't able to see if there was anything loose. I will check in the morning and also try to get a code with my tuner.
I would say probably issue with tune or something not connected right. Try reloading the bama tune when you get a change and if problem reoccurs talk to tuner
+1. You can check the intake to make sure everything is connected properly and there are no leaks. But it sounds like a tuning issue to me. Reload the tune and talk to your tuner. Worst case, switch back to the stock airbox and tune until this gets sorted out.
I apologize for the inconvenience that you're experiencing. I know how frustrating it can be when you're excited to install your CAI & Tune and something goes wrong.
In some cases when running a JLT CAI on 11+, the filter placement is crucial. If you have the filter pushed onto the tube past the JLT engraving or even close to it, your cars going to act very odd. Some of the symptoms your experiencing have been caused by this issue! (Double check the placement of the filter)
Our tunes are good 99% of the time. Occasionally there are errors because we hand write each tune. I'm confident my Bama team will fix it quickly! Majority of the time, its Small human error when filing your tune information form or by a Bama Member!
Either way, I'm going to get you taken care of immediately! Shoot me a PM with your order # included & I'll have my head Tuning Specialist Mike Wilso contact you directly!
Thanks for sticking it out with us while we get your situation handled, we greatly appreciate your patience!
I had the wrench come on once and the result is when you accelerate, the car boggs down. It turned out, I think, to be a problem with the tune (Edlebrock #1588 s/c) in that the throttle command and throttle position feedback were out of sync. Corrected with tune from Edelbrock after data-logging.
Thank you guys so much. Im waiting on the new tune from Bama performance. They have always been good with tunes in the past and I trust that everything will be taken care of.
