Re: Cai and tuner?

well according to AM it says:
airraid is 11rwhp 11rwrq
jlt is 24-30rwhp
steeda is 44hp 52tq
C&L is 28rwhp

and that was every intake that required a tune

---------- Post added at 08:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:56 PM ----------

jlt isnt the best if the C&L and steeda are too expensive you cant really beat the jlt

Be careful not to buy into marketing hype, there have been a bazillion threads on CAI for our 5.0. Power gains are minimal at best. They look and sound good but don't serve much purpose, worry about tune for now

It's all good as long as you know what you're getting into, just informing others. I have heard of zero issues with air raid

I was a Marine from 06-10, 1 combat tour... Actually now that I think about it I had an interview on abc world news with Dianne sawyer in the middle of a firefight lol.

Most of my knowledge comes from reading about other people experiences as well as much research and my own experiences. I try to be as honest and straight forward as possible and never wanna make stuff up or pass on bad info

I'm thinking of definitely getting a Steeda CAI with Bama tunes, for sure. Especially since the CAI is blue like my GT

What does everyone recommend for pipes?

Re: Cai and tuner?

For those of you with a 2013 I just read about the water problem with the vented hood. The driver's side vent funnels water directly onto the air box. I had an air raid cai just arrive and can't use it. C&L makes one to solve this issue for 2013 Stangs.

Re: Cai and tuner?

There is also the AEM which uses a closed airbox. I'm looking at both options, but am holding off on the CAI for a while.

You do know that it makes no difference between a dyno tune and a bama tune? Both will void your warranty all the same, if you have a powertrain issue ford will know the Ecu has been flashed and pretty much game over for you.

Anything you do voids the warranty. Just saying!

No, what you're saying is if I put on an axle back exhaust, and my engine blows up, my warranty will be voided, simply not true.

I have a C&L, with a SCT C&L tune coming. Their claims on HP aren't as high as others, but hopefully it will keep my engine from blowing up...

Maybe their as confident in their tunes as bama, willing to warranty your 8th cylinder.

Neither am I it's just the point of forums is to put out info, just don't want anybody thinking they can't put window tint on their car without voiding warranty. No harm no offense, my apologies!

I see what your sayin now. I must have misunderstood. Yea cause obviously tint not gonna void it. But pretty much anything other than cosmetic stuff will void it. Even exhaust. I've seen first hand a dealership void a warranty just from that. I apologize myself!

Re: Cai and tuner?

I think it is really important for me to tell everyone just what the "Steeda Difference" is - and more specifically, why our performance parts and tunes are unrivaled in the market today.....

We have an exceptionally strong technology relationship with Ford Motor Company that is unrivaled in the aftermarket industry. While some companies promote their tunes and state that they have X number of years of experience in cracking the Ford ECU so as to maximize performance -- one has to remember that there is much more to creating a performance tune than just hacking into the Ford ECU and tricking the Ford ECU system into cranking our additional horsepower. Ford builds into each vehicle (hardware and software) an extremely complex arrangement of sensors and computer logic so that performance, emissions, and vehicle integrity are not compromised.

From a historical perspective, one must understand that Steeda Autosports was the first and only aftermarket company to partner with Ford Motor Company on the Ford/SEMA Technology Sharing Program for performance engine calibrations. When Ford first launched this program, we made a major financial investment into partnering with Ford in the creation of optimum performance calibrations. In essence, we worked with the same brain trust that designed and manufactured these engines so were well aware of the unique attributes, capabilities as well as their inherent limitations of the Ford hardware and software.

Today, there is no coincidence that we have had zero issues with the #8 cylinder on the newest 5.0L engine - it is because of the brain-trust our engineering staff has acquired in their ongoing development work on ECU calibrations. Again - this is not by accident or by "tuners luck" in guessing what the issue was - rather it is as a direct result of our ongoing relationship and collaboration with Ford Motor Company that we develop tunes that are simply the best. Additionally - one other key element to consider is the level by which we operate - Steeda Autosports is the only Mustang aftermarket company that operates under strict ISO 9001-2008 Certification Standards. What this means is that it is your assurance of the highest levels of quality and consistency in what we do - and that is designing, engineering, manufacturing, and distributing the best Ford performance parts and accessories in the market today.

When you purchase our tunes you are not only getting performance but you are also getting the support of the #1 all Ford performance aftermarket manufacturing company. We race what we sell - on the dragstrip, race track, and test track. In fact, vehicles equipped with Steeda performance parts have won more races, set more records, and won more championships than all of our competitors combined. How many retailers or internet tuning shops can say that?

Remember - you have serious $$$ invested into your ride - you can take a gamble, or go with the time tested proven leader - Steeda Autosports who for almost 25 uninterrupted years has been delivering maximum performance.

Hope this helps with your decision...

Best Regards,

TJ
