Re: Stripes

Because that's the way Ford decided to set it up. I think it's kind of arbitrary. You can always go the route I plan to & add them yourself. American Muscle has a lot of options.

Re: Stripes

There are a couple of good websites I found that offer stripes at a good price:

Graphic-express.com

Rjmotorsports.com

Anchor-room.com

There's applicable discounts when ordering but I cant remember which .com or how much off. Google it.

You maybe want to price having them painted on vs vinyl. I priced both ways and found a great shop in my area that painted them on for 1200 including clear coating all areas again so as not to feel the added paint. The vinyl was gonna run 1000 and I would constantly have to worry about not getting wax on them. That being said I'd price painting just for curiosity. JS

You don't have to worry about keeping wax off stripes. As long as the one you are using is vinyl safe you are good. Stripes from the factory are vinyl as well. Just make sue you get good automotive vinyl. They are thinner and the edge is less noticeable to the touch. They last longer too. The ones from graphic-express are what I recommend. They are die cut in 22 pieces to fit our cars. Very nice kit. It cost me 229 and my time to do mine.

I had mine stripped. Graphic Express delivered the stripes at about $300. I had to order extra because they didn't have a kit to fit the low-rise rear spoiler with camera in it. A body shop close by installed them (recommended by our Mustang Club) at $400. They did grumble a little because they sell vinyl, and said the kit was not so easy to work with.
I liked the Graphic Express kit because it was wider over the roof, then tapered down at the front.
And with the vinyl, it kinda gave me a 'trial' to see if I liked the look of the stripes without the permanent-factor with paint.

They were grumbling because they couldn't charge you more for vinyl cost and cutting vinyl sections. The kit is pretty easy to work with and fit well. I had never done them before until I got there kit. Definitely the way to go in my opinion.
