2013 GT Vs 2011 GT

Hey guys I need some helpful advice. So the car I've been driving is my dad's car. I have been allowed to drive his new truck, until his old died. However yesterday his Reverse crapped out. We are taking it into the shop to get it looked at and if it's not too $$$, we'll get the car fixed. If it's too $$$, then I'm out of car. Now my parents help me out and I have extra money myself to throw into a car. Now I really want a 2013 GT premium, but they're brand new and kind of expensive.. I would want Race Red W/ black interior aand the comfort package. What could I negotiate a dealer to? Bottom line? And I would want essentially the same with the 2011 GT Premium. I would want that one optioned out a little more, but I saw one on the internet that had just about everything for 25k. This car will will also be my daily driver. I live in Wisconsin as well, which means lots of snow. I wanted to drive my dad's truck till the 2013's got bought up and started being sold used. PLEASE GIVE ME IDEAS AND YOUR ADVICE!!!

Re: 2013 GT Vs 2011 GT

i have a 2011 gt. not premium though. i dont need the shaker system or the navi. i never drove the 13s but i do know they come with 420hp now instead of 412 and i really like the track apps. i bought mine used also and if i could do it over i would have waited paid off my truck and traded it in on a 13 just for the track apps, 420hp, gotta have it green, and the taillights lol dont care for the rest of the car.

I agree with Grabber, buy a 11 gt, get a tune and your right there with stock 13's and you will still be ahead money wise.

After driving my buddies 13, I would go with one of those for sure. The trans is totally fixed (mine was never as smooth as his is) and the adjustable steering feel is pretty sweet! Also, you can get the track pack on the 13 which is a lot of boss parts that will really help on the track or very spirited street driving. Not to mention, the front end changes are an instant orgasm...

Go to a dealership and take one for a test drive. Around here, every dealership has all kinds of 2013 stangs just sitting around.

2013 gt was dynoed at 373 rwhp same as 2011. It also does the 1/4 and 0-60 at the same time. The extra 8hp is next to non existant

I hate the way 2013s look especially the front end and bumpers. I would get a 2011 or 2012

As much as I like the '13s the smarter decision would definitely be the 2011. Same horsepower and comfort for a lot cheaper which can just go into mods if you get bit by the bug if you really want that front end just go get a black mamba conversion kit and you'll still have money left over. I think an '11 with low miles and the options you want is the right choice for you.

And 11's have piston cooling jets feature not in the 13's which I think is a neat thing to have

Re: 2013 GT Vs 2011 GT

Check and see if ford still has the 3K rebate on the 2012GT as you would be able to get real close to the price of the used one. Plus besides being new most all of the bugs have been worked out because most that are left are very late production.

Do you have covers or actually tint on your headlights/fog lights?

I don't need to many opinions, because I like the 13 GT better in almost every way! I just need solutions to get one cheaper than new. How much do you think I could get one down to with the options I specified? Any suggestions on waiting out? How long would I have to wait out for the prices to drop significantly? I do like the 11 GT's, but the trac apps, standard HID, Taillights, front end differences, etc. It's got me sold! I need my dad's old truck to live!!

they are covers from american muscle. i had them on for everyday driving but even with my aftermarket hids my headlights barely worked. i was so glad i had the fog lights in my grill. only throw them on for shows now. bit of advice though if you order them they come with velcro attached, i peeled that off and put my own double sided tape cause they put the velcro in very stupid spot and you can see squares when the lights are on

Lol u don't need to tune an 11 gt to be head to head with a 13 gt. 8hp isn't gonna do much.

I must be the only man in the world who does not like the 13 front end. Track apps are nice though.

I dont like the 13 front end or the rear. I'm happy with my '10 GT. You get the '11 you will pay less.

I could tell the clutch pedal is lighter and shifter is LESS notchy but it still is an MT82 and is still notchy. And I prefer the looks of my 11 more

I do love the hids and tails though.

Yea I wasn't trying to say you need a tune to keep up with the 13 lol, just saying you would have a few grand more for mods

There's 2 of us... Looks weird to me in person, the gt500 looks amazing but there's a few subtle differences on the 2013 front that looks too goofy to me. I used to think the 2010 looked weird in pics but I saw it in person and bought it immediately lol, the 13 just doesn't do it for me.

Everything else looks amazing though!

All this hating on the '13 makes me sad. I love the look & picked it over the '12. All a matter of opinion.

I agree, I love '13. To me the front end looks sick and the hood is awesome. I wasn't a big fan at first of the '10 front end when it came out, but as time went by, I started to love them. So I waited and traded my V6 '08 for a '13 GT Premium. Love the fact that they brought back the 5.0 in '11. Sometimes the wait is worth it.

The 13 is awesome in every way for me, its beautiful ... but at the end if the day, anyone with an 11+ 5.0 got the winner I'm so glad I didn't get the 10 when it came out, I had trouble with funds at the time. So everything happens for a reason

With the right color, grill, tint, etc., the 2011 front end looks awesome.

I agree. I wasn't even much of a recent year Mustang fan till I saw the 2013 new front and rear. Then i bought one. Best decision ever!

The GT is pretty sweet

only thing i like about the 13 is the taillights. The car itself looks cheap to me.

See I felt that the 10-12 looked cheap. The unpainted side panels and back defuser just feels like Ford wanted to save paint. The 13's come with standard HID, standard LED taillights. Many great improvements! I don't know how it looks cheap..
