CJ intake mani

Is anyone using this? Has anyone even heard much about it? I have heard very little aside from the fact that it exists, is it even for sale?

Not for sale. I have heard a couple rumors that it may be. But i doubt it. They would try to get a grand for it though. Then you need the throttle body, thats another 800, im sure youll need new fuel lines and other stuff. All said and done it would probably set you back 2k if not more. It would be awesome. But for 2k i would either build my motor, put cams/ingnition/headers, or save up another 2k for a vortech.

Sorry, coulda researched myself... Which I just did, they are for sale, and you're correct, a grand, throttle body is another 700. However it is advertised to give more power than the Boss IM, without the loss of tq. But you're right, not worth the 1700 IMO. Not unless someone else does it first and it happens to be magical lol

Dont forget you would need a new cai or airbox setup. It would be every bit of 2k or more for what 20 more hp and 30 more tq than the boss im. Not worth it imo. Even though it would be awesome. If i could do it all for a grand, id do it.

The funny thing is, the one they are showing for sale is not the same one that is on the cj engine. Look at the pics. The cj im that they are showing looks like the frpp im for the 4.6.

That's about the same price as the boss im nowadays. Who is going to tune for it, and are they selling the tb too?

Idk if tousley will sell tb, pretty sure Gt500 tb will work though. Probably all major tuners will tune for it once they get them tested and running

Re: CJ intake mani

So an update on this intake. I talked to the guys from Ford Racing yesterday at the AM car show and they told me that the CJ intake is good for 25 HP OVER BOSS INTAKE!! I figured it would have been single digits... silly me lol. they had a red candy 5.0 with the CJ motor in it at the show, they started it up and it seemed surprisingly tame, and they said it is still driveable on the street!!

Lolol, just keep in mind it's gonna be about $2,000. best case scenarios getting TB and intake tube and filter used would be about $1500. We also gotta wait for the tuners to get their hands on them so that we can get a tune for them. that could be another 6-12 months before it's fully useable

Thats my point. Double your investment and multiply your hp gain by 8-10. Its awesome dont get me wrong, but if im putting 2k more into hp&tq im putting another 2k into alot more.
