2012 mustang 3rd gear issues

I recently installed the JLT cold air kit on my 2012 mustang gt automatic. It was 3.15 gears, boss intake and a bama tune. Question is when I go all out it gets up to 7200 to 7500 rpms in second gear and tags the rev limiter and the engine let's off. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem or how to resolve it. I'm going to be racing my buddies z28 and want to make sure I get a clean pass to kick his butt.

The dreaded "noisy" MAF signal produced by JLT intakes... These are notorious for being extremely difficult to get to work correctly due to a design flaw. From what I have heard there is not stop point on the air tube and it has to be put on just right. Personally I say go back to stock airbox or get a different CAI.

For all coyote guys, this is the exact reason I advise against JLT CAI

Sprintradc,

There could be a few things going on here. First, it's really important that your air filter is on the very end of the JLT piping and not too high. This can easily throw the MAF sensor off and give you issues. Second, if you're CAI is installed correctly, there could be a simple human error in your custom tune.

Double check the JLT intake filter and make sure it's installed 100%. If it is, shoot me a PM with any previous order number of yours. I'll have our lead tuner Mike Wilson look over your tune files and see if there was a mistake with the tuning info form or a simple error when hand writing your tune! Either way we'll get you straightened out!

Also, let me know if there's anything else I can do!

Shane

Shane

Would it help the bama tuners if I used the data logging program so they can see what is going on with the engine. Do you know what parameters they would need to see to try to fix the problem. I moved the filter about a quater of an inch so I will see when I go into work tonight if that solves the problem
