Exhaust leak

Installed my flowmaster outlaws on my 2010, but I have leaks on both from where the inlet splits so that the clamp can do its job. Is this normal and will it fail inspection? Im registered in Virginia.

Will not fail emissions inspection, not sure if they care about noise pollution though.

Yeah the noise isnt too bad, but it seems there is no way to get these things on without there being a leak from that space. They also dont stick out from the bumper, which isnt a big deal. I just want to make sure I didnt do anything wrong. They are only seen from behind it seems like.

I wish they just used tapatalk tbh. Its a lot easier IMO just dealing with one app for all the forums.

What is OTA? And I'm considering taking it to a hobby shop and getting it in a lift so I can adjust them up in there

Over the axle pipe, looks like it was tampered with on some way, but it's hard telling without seeing it in person

Okay I have looked into it alittle bit more and Flowmaster is saying that to insure proper fit you might have to adjust the H pipe. Now this doesnt seem like too bad of an idea. Its just a matter of undoing the clamps and sliding it back slightly and then tightening it back up right?

I mean the pipes are bent in places above the suspension, but I read in another thread that this was normal and factory designed. Now I did have to cut these protruding nubs off the OTA in order to get the outlaws on there properly. There is a space cut out for them on the a/bs, but they didnt line up by a quarter turn so I removed them to get the pipe on.

Re: Exhaust leak

Okay heres an update, I got out underneath the car this afternoon and loosened the H pipe to get some more tail at the end of my pipe. After a lot of cursing and some scratched up knuckles, I finally got them into a better spot. But the awesome Virginia weather gave me a wake up call in the form of thunder and lighting with some water in between. So I will post a few photos tomorrow to show my progress.

Yeah I imagine it's still leaking, I'm not sure how they were bent wrong but I will be getting my girl on a lift tonight and making sure everything is tight before calling the job done. Is that the look that I'm suppose to be going for?

Sounds familiar (I'm on Ohio).

Looks a lot better. On the clamps, make sure you aren't too far back on the joint. I've seen a lot of people make this mistake and it keeps them from getting a good seal. You could always just take it to an exhaust shop and have it welded if you're really worried about it.

Yeah, I got it pretty solid in there, so if I go to get my inspection done and they give me a hard time then I'll take it to a place and get it done.
