I would suggest a low mileage 07-08 gt500 then you get the power you want forged internals and you can find them in the low 30s

The car being paid for and no monthly payments to worry about are a huge plus IMO.
Save up what you'd spend in taxes and monthly payments and you will be able to afford some forged internals sooner than you might think, so you can turn up the wick if you desire.

I like the rear view of the 2010 much better than the angled off tail lights of the newer models too.

It is the 09 and lower models that look different. The 2010 is the same as the 2011 and 2012.

Re: supercharge or not to supercharge 2010 gt

I'm in the same position as the OP. My plans, as of today, are to install a Roush M90 supercharger kit and call it good. I don't intend to do any further work on the engine. That will put me in the ballpark with the 5.0.

I'm not concerned about resale, because I usually keep my cars around 10 years and no (average) car is worth much after that amount of time.

2010 GT

I had a procharger, cam (non agressive-just for the lope) and shaker hood scoop
Installed.

Gave me 500 hp and 440 rwhp after dyno and tune.

Problems:
Blew clutch- had spec stage 3 installed.

Somewhere in there damaged trans.
Cant shift from 1st to 2nd at high high rpms 6500-7000 at the track.

Fastest time was 12.2 at 116 mph. Im a novice 1/4 mile guy. If could learn how to improve my 60 ft time and shift properly should break high 11s.

Car runs great while normal driving.
Just on the track 1st to 2nd at a high rpm.
Looking for a beefier trans and one piece driveshaft.

M90? Dude that is not the best bang for buck! I don't even know why Roush keep making them. The tvs2300 stage1 is way better and you can upgrade to a lot more if you want to and only a few hundred bucks more than the M90!

Dave I have 2010gt with 310Whp and I love my car! When I was in the market for a mustang the 5.0 was out but way to expensive for me so i got the 2010 and for a great price. The force induction is coming, is not going to be a 5.0 with simple mods but is going to be MY 2010 4.6 s/c and that's good enough for me! Dude I love to race so much that I race with my shadow and some times you win and some you loose but the one thing is that I ALWAYS have fun. So do some research on s/c and go for it!

I have an 08 Roush. I just put the vmp500 kit in and with that little m90 super charger and tuner I'm putting 500hp at the crank. Car is fast as hell and I would run a new 5.0 any day. A modded car may whoop me but the sound of the charger and the horsepower are insane. No n/a car is gonna sound that sweet. All the research I have done says the 4.6 can handle it no problem.

If your 2010 is stock trading in would be a good idea but like mine I've already invested 7k an that's not even any supercharger so I wanted to do it but it would of been a complete waste since aftermarket parts don't add value to a car
