I really like the tailights of the 2013.. but for cheaper and with some mileage... I can get a premium that imo looks better then the base.. what do you guys think? help me become a proud mustang owner

Hey, it's all in the eye of the beholder. You can probably get a deal more easily on a new leftover 12 if you look hard. I didn't really dig the restyle in 13 so, I had to jump on the 12 that came my way.

Definitely, on an American car you have to live with, spend the dosh on the upgraded interior and appointments. Everybody talks base mustang but, most that end up pulling the trigger for Premium are very happy they did.

Mine's got everything but glass roof: Premium, comfort, tech, BBP, 3.73s, MT, hids, optional paint, etc. I'm 46 and being happy and not feeling I "settled" or compromised is great.

if dealer incentives are good you can generally get a new car for cheaper than a year old one~ plus interest rates are better on new.

request a book from ford about the mustang, sometimes they send 750.00 coupons in them off a new car purchase I got one for my 2012 i picked up last year. You can also really haggle on new 2012s still on dealer lots

Will do.. The lot closest to my house doesn't have any 2012's though.. The main issue for me is getting the best deal for my buck. I can get a 2013 base for 2,500 more than a slightly used 2012 premium.. and that's already wth rebates and incentives, but i can always lower the price down.. Also I'm sure since the mustang community is huge the 2013 lights can be purchased in the future for the 2012's i'm sure.. Color is another hard choice for me, I like the white, But i dont mind red or black.. so many choices!

never rush especially when new, also sometimes if you order a car they give you the car at a lower rate. I personally would look up the invoice price of the car AND options and determine if they are giving you invoice. Sometimes they say they are but they are not.

Also.... invoice is NOT what they pay, they get dealer incentives just like you get incentives off, they dont like to talk about it but they generally do and you can find that out on the internet at well..

I had two dealerships fighting over me, one said X deal and I got it in writing (MUST get it in writing) and I went to the other dealership and they meet it and beat it by 300 bucks.

The issue is they tried to screw me out of 500 bucks but since I had the print out from the other dealer they had to adjust their "figures".

I ended up getting a sticker'ed 2012 V6 at 23,500 out the door for 19,000 due to rebate, 750 off coupon, and them coming off the price.

Invoice was 1000.00 under sticker for mine~

Re: Buying New 'stang '13 or '12

If you have time can you take a look at the cars i linked? I did my homework and when i went in he was trying to sell me the 2013 stang, the only one i posted, for ther same price as the internet price.. saying he was giving me a good deal.. Should i haggle that price down to lets say 28k ? Or should i go for a premium 2012 slightly used around 5k miles?

If you want to know what a fair price is for a certain car in your market, go to www.truecar.com

There is a 2011 on S197 that has a forged engine for sale. I believe he wants 24.5K. Super clean race red. Stock engine popped so he replaced it with a built motor.

Owner has also put her on EBay.
