Re: New sticky tires and LCAs

Do those have poly bushings and on both ends? Just a few dollars to replace but the aggravation of pulling them is the not so good part. I see you are manual so be easy on major heavy launches. If you ever plan to drag strip with drag radials or slicks you will split them. Common problem. You can bet if you burn out and launch at 6000 or even 5000 + RPM's they will split. Just a heads up. Stands the reason I went with BMR QA1 solid teflon ends and of course adjustable. Hey, I am not knocking them.Hell, I have mine riding in the trunk for 7 months. Never put on yet. Paid a pretty penny for them. BMR# TA-020 I think is the number. They use them on their track car. I just know they are gonna give alot of NVH and clunk with them but they will damn sure hook and hold when I do. I figure when I buy some 15'' rear weld racing wheels or race stars then I will put them on and head to the track.I got several tracks not to far from me. Rockingham has test and tunes and fayetteville has alot happening on w/e's. I may buy some that are just affordable like J&M and try out around town.I don't do much burning rubber for nothing or launching beyond my tire ability so they would be worth the having. My next purchase is springs and some more susp. stuff. Want that MGW though bad. It will just have to wait. Funds are pretty dried up...LOL. You car is looking good man,

Re: New sticky tires and LCAs

Yea, 3 piece poly urethane bushings. Don't have any plans for that type of hard launching but we'll see. They say the 3 piece bushing design absorbs energy to stop wheel hop. Hopefully they won't come apart any time soon!

How did you fit a 275 on a 8.5" wheel?

Re: New sticky tires and LCAs

I had 285/35/19 on the rear of mine when I was still running the Brembo wheels. We are talking about the OEM 19x9" wheel. I run 245/40/19 fronts amd 285 35/19 in the rear.Alot of times man, you can go on tirerack and it will automatically tell u the tires sizes compatible. The misconception is some are slightly different than others and what not! My next purchase is for sure springs.I got some agjustable LCA's to put on too.I think I found some 15'' weld racing rears. If I can get them right and just wheels I will snag them. One guy about 25 miles from me has some nice 15'' weld but the front are like 15'too.so, I don't know yet.I got several good wheels to go look mat. on the slicks or Dr

275 is the widest recommended size for 8.5, but they don't look to big at all and they handle great.

I have always read 255s were the widest recommended. I could be wrong though. I have put a few posts on here about it and everybody always said 255s on 8.5" wheels. I just worry about the 275s, looking at your pics it seems the bead is excessively pulled in and the sidewalls are budged out, this leaves me to be concerned about the tire wanting to bulge a little in the center of the tread, similar to over inflation, and cause excessive tread wear down the middle of the tread. Keep us posted on your tire wear. Good luck!
