I love my gt500's..not too loud but noticeably meaner. They tend to open up a little also once you break them in.

As far as I know the only thing that roush sells for exhaust on the 11+ is just the a/b's, got some used for $240 shipped

Glad to see the GT500s are off back order but one weekend too late for me since the dream cruise was last weekend.
And, OP, you're gonna need two hands to get under the car and wrestle with the swap out. Bring your wife home some flowers and put her to work |

My 500s are on the way too. I want something subtle here.
I yanked the sound tube entirely yesterday. The car is quieter but, the sound it does make is more "pure" and "rich" if you understand my meaning. There was always a kind of strange flatness to the soundtrack produced by the sound tube, sort of like when you turn the volume up just a touch too high on a stereo and the THD creeps in. .

My fav. exhausts for 5.0 are:
1.borla s type w/stock h
2.gt500 w/ off road mid
3. Roush AB w/ stock h
These are not in any particular order. I prefer #2 b/c performance gain with quality sound. Personally, I think #1 &3 are too loud combined with o/r mid for DD use. Other wise I wouldn't mind it that loud.
Post vid when you try Roush setup.

I'll let you know this Saturday when I'm listening to them rumble on my blue dragon and beating chevy's lol Quote:

Post vid when you try Roush setup. | Roush is pretty damn loud with an offroad midpipe... check my exhaust vids in my sig for proof. I'm probably switching to GT500s soon, have my Roush ABs SPF locally. It's not that it's too loud for me, I'm just tired of all the attention. I can't drive the car ANYWHERE without people staring and asking me about it (and the cops keep showing up everywhere I go). I can hardly even drive it in the city since I have to keep up under 2k or it gets ridiculous...
If you're trying to get attention everywhere you go, Roush ABs + offroad X is the way to go. That's not me though... believe it or not, it gets old having people ask about your car EVERY TIME YOU DRIVE it.

+1 I'm thinking about the BBR after-cat (gotta keep 'em on) & am not sure. I love the sound of the Roush, but don't want louder--it's at the max I can tolerate as it is now.

I did a tunnel rip the other day on the GT500s, windows down.
Basically, perfectly contained anger, exactly what was needed, without being too much. These are still pretty loud under WOT, outside the car. Any more and I'd be turning the heads of our local law enforcement more than I'd like. I live in a place where more than 25 over can end up with your car on the hook and impounded.

Starting to hate my Roush a/b.. Everything below 4k sounds fine. WOT sounds like fricken glass packs can't stand it anymore. Only direction I know to go is GT500 with a mid. Or Stainless steal works cat back or Kooks Full exhaust. I want to get rid of the glass pack sound at WOT. other than that Roush sound mean at low RPM's

Done the you tube thing tell my ears are numb. Sad really. I love the way the roush exhaust sound while driving slow, and no drone. But who wants to drive these cars slow all the time.
