Tire pressure question?

Hey guys just got nitto 555 255/35/20 in the front and 275/35/20 in the rear. What is the best tire pressure for them to be on I bought the rims and tires off a website that was selling avantgarde m310 rims. The only problem is that they are balanced and they are shaking bad in the front. Any suggestions would help.

It depends what ur doing with it, drag racing, city, highway, track everything has a average and a few psi can make a huge difference at the track. If your talking city/highway.. 28-30 is the normal. Not sure if the 20" rims will change that though, ive never run a 20 on anything. Plus if your tires have nitrogen in them too that will vary the psi

Re: Tire pressure question?

Shaking that bad is not PSI problems. Carry them back to a place that can do road force balance. Alot of places are not gonna have road force equipment. With road force test they return brand new tires. They never leave. It's not uncommon for a brand new tire to have balance issue.Thing is on reg. tire mount and balance machine it will balance fine. With road force it applies like 1500 pounds of pressure and it's turning fast too. I would be getting back with who you got them from.JMO

The place I got them from had a road for balance machine. They think it's possible some of the weights fell off during transportation. I have to get them re balanced and go from there they said.

Re: Tire pressure question?

Just so you guys know I had that same problem and found out it was the little washer that holds the rotor on the studs, i ordered rims and tires all mounted and balanced and they shook like crazy so brought them to a local shop and they told me those little buggers were the culprit...maybe you knew that maybe not? ive worked on cars for 30 yrs and never knew it, but i also never had nice rims....

Re: Tire pressure question?

You are talking about the couple retaining clip style washers for the rotor.Yes that is a big and bad possible mistake. You could warp a rotor.Ouch.....especially if its Brembo.

Yep, they put them on there to hold the rotor in place during assembly and are too lazy to take them off. This has caused many perceived balance issues on newer Mustangs.

That said, take your wheels and tires to a reputable shop. I had the same issue with the factory wheels and tires and Ford said they were fine. I took them to a shop that I knew did good work and they got me sorted out.

Chevy put them on everything.. I hate prying those damn things off when I'm doin a set of wheels... It's really noticeable when you are putting on aftermarket wheels sometimes.. Usually isn't noticeable on factory wheels but if they are removed and put back on diff than they were from factory that's when you'll notice them.. I always pry them off..
