Good point, any plans for deleting, getting a black horse or just a Roush grille type deal?

Plastidipping my windows LOL! The wheels are the last non-black thing left, other than said pony. As far as performance I just got 3.73s... getting installed next week. Next is H pipe, and I'm keeping my eye on the Cobra Jet intake manifold because I held out buying the Boss.

Cobra Jet would be BA! Out of curiosity why did you decide to go with Cobra Jet?

Not 100% decided yet, but from the write up on FRPPs website the "claim" is +20hp over Boss intake throughout entire RPM band. But it's twice the price and requires a new GT500 throttle body. Waiting for real world dyno results to seal the deal.

Just looked and our pictures are oddly similar.

Re: 2011 GT Blackout

And since the forum is about blackout ideas, I am not 100% blacked-out, I have all the rear lights, windows to 5% but I won't ever be fully blacked out. I am getting my headlights painted flat black or black chrome (some sort of darkened paint) and Halos installed. Gunmetal/Matte Black Shelby CS1 wheels and custom Roush side stripes in that reflective flat black you see on the 2013 Boss.

Lol, that's what I said too! Great minds! I've only ever owned black cars, my previous Stang was blacked out and my Focus before that lol. I guess it's not really original, but I like it.

Looks awesome! Mine is blacked out too but my car is grey. I also need wheels as my last step

I got my black pony on eBay for $10-$20, but painting it is a good choice too.

Good job on the 5.0 emblems, that chromey plastic was the first thing I got rid of. I also bought mine on eBay, I think they were $10-$20 also. They're nice metal emblems, much higher quality than the ones that come with the car.

My chrome is gone as well, however I didn't go fully blacked out. I went black and graphite just to show a little separation in colors. Good job looks great have any rims specifically sticking out to you?

Black on grey is awesome, did you plastidip your rear emblem and use an exacto for the "GT"? I got the 5.0 fender emblems from AM, the factory chrome ones were a bit too much.

This is how I would want my 5.0 to eventually look

Just plastidip... $6.00 and 30 minutes of work... Eff it. Black chrome pony huh? Where from? I like the sound of that.

Dude... your car is sick. I think I'll eventually go with the Whipple also. Any way, I was thinking the KMC Rockstars... I don't know why but they just stand out to me. I also haven't seen them on a lot of Mustangs.

Use the taillight tint spray on the chrome pony. Use can make it as dark as you want and it will still have a good shine from the chrome underneath. Just make sure you put a coat of clear on top.

Thanks! The rear emblem is painted and I used the touch-up pen for the GT. The trunk emblem needs to be repainted, there was way too much humidity at the time. I'm going to play around with the GT some more... I can't really clearcoat it because of all the matte black surrounding it, so it doesn't match body color exactly. I also used the touch-up pen on the black plastic outlining the grille pony. I'm going to redo that a few shades lighter than body color because the blacked out front end makes it look a lot darker.

I saw the 5.0 emblems from AM but passed because I hate the color red I really like your tails, are you happy with them? I haven't decided if I'm going to keep mine the way they are, I definitely need to adjust a few things.

That gets the black chrome look? I've been wanting to black chrome all the badging & need to find a good way to do it.

I like the tail light tint... I did all the lights with a kit from "Big Worm Graphics". It took about an hour, but the good thing is they're easily removable if I get any trouble from the fuzz. I was worried how dark they would get, but got over it after they were on.

So it's vinyl? Or covers?

I went with vinyls all the way around everything was precut and doesn't flap in the wind when you drive down the road. The wheels look good bud good choice. Minor detail but what r u going to do with the chrome star on those rims if u get them.

Re: 2011 GT Blackout

What exactly did you use for the headlights? How much did it effect the light output?

I'm curious too... Be careful with vinyl on headlights, it will crack the glass under the heat.

Another thing u could do is have a tint shop use window tint on them. That's what I elected to go with when it came to my headlights.

Is that working okay for you? My tint place did my tails on my DD but wouldn't do my headlights... I assumed it was for safety reasons and had someone else do them, and now one of my headlights has little cracks all over it from the heat. Long story why it's only one, haha.

Lol ok yeah no problems to date have had th done for 9 months now. You have to find a tint company that isn't on the straight n narrow on everything. I haven't had bubbling or anything but your environment is a lot different then mine in Washington.
