Re: How Fast?

Too many cops in my area. Highest I've ever gone was 80mph, and would love to go even faster. My car is 90% stock, and it's a 2012 GT.

2010, 4.6, GPS,, 146 before I let up. Wild ride. I hit 120 easily at least once a week on an isolated stretch between my house and my girlfriends.

Yeah. In my old Stang when I first got it I was aught doing 91 in a 35 (back road). I got 4 points on my license and $265 ticket. Thank goodness I wasn't in Toronto!

Actually... I just remembered my 4.0 experience, it had x pipe, intake, tune, posi, 3.73 manual (speedo corrected) and I hit 140 In that. It shook like mad and almost flew off the road... And took a while to get there lol, but it pulled!

Re: How Fast?

I have not had my 2013 Mustang for 3 Montserrat yet. At the 6 week mark, I received a ticket for going 10mph over during a contraversial stop. I had no intentions to go over but was in the wrong place at the wrong time and tring to get to a engagement.

I perceived that I was going to get a break but that was not the case. I got a ticket with not cost listed. It was a $265 dollar ticke that was $160 if I opted to take the drivers class. They even tried to charge me an extra $6 for using my debit card. The available 1st National Bank ATM required $5. I still have to take the course which will at least cost $30.

I was so mass that I could not immediately leave the police parking lot.

As far as the ticket, I had a red candy Mustang with Temp plates - the cop was going to get me.

Now I have to be extremely careful for the next year.

With 2300 miles on it, I have not been over 75mph. I will never see 100mph in the US unless I am on the track.

In my stupid years, I may have rode down I65 for hours at 120mph...or maybe it was just a dream - that would have been real stupid of me.

Re: How Fast?

It doesn't take much to get these cars rolling at high speeds. They are capable of 170 without limiter.

Funny thing is it not. Once you have rode a zx-10r at a 187mph +/- cars are just slow.

Then you just haven't ridden in the right car yet. Hot Rod Drag Week is going on right now - one of the cars ran a 7.002 @ 212 yesterday. These cars aren't allowed chase teams as they travel from city to city.

Re: How Fast?

I wonder what the unlimited top speed of these things are.... Also wonder what the difference in top speed is for those with 3.73 gears.

Top physical speed of our cars (99-04 GT) with 4.10s is right at 188mph at 6250 rpm. That's wheres it's physically impossible to go any faster. And you'll need around 550-600rwhp to get there.

I'm not sure about the new tranny's gear ratios but I doubt it's too much different.

Top speed for 3.73 is 198 mph also at around 6250 rpm.

130 in the Roush however had tons of pedal left. Got a bit nervous watching the hood dance and backed out. Fastest I have been was 184on my former 2007 CBR1000RR. that was a ride!!! Bike was faster than my nerves could handle anymore.

That's most assuredly wrong... Assuming stock tire size and rev limiter of 7k, 4.10s hit 120 in 4th, 157 in 5th, and 198 in sixth, but you'll run out of power/aero before that.

I run 110.x trap speeds barely coasting through the finish line in 4th because it runs out of gear. Definitely not hitting 120 in 4th, even w/ 3.73's..

Sorry I just came back to correct those numbers, was using the wrong line in the spreadsheet.

4th - 111
5th - 147
6th - 226 (lol)

With a 7600 redline and stock tires you would. With my setup (28.5" drag radials) you would hit 119 in 4th at 7600 with 4.10s.

Oh cool, I wonder what it would be with a 9,000 rpm redline and 44" swampers.

Do you have an automatic? You would have to be on the redline at 7600 on stock tire sizes with an automatic to do that.
