Because of the way the timing tables work, you motor just DUMPS fuel into the engine, and without the cats in place to burn off the excess fuel, you are getting that smell.

I smell unburnt fuel all the time in mine, I have offroad pipes but no ghost cam tune.

Kinda like the old cammed cars back in the day. I personally love the smell of a nice cammed v8 with the gas just spitting and sputtering out of it.

Mustang_5.0,

This is completely normal. It's not actually related to the Ghost Cam, Now that your running a Catless mid-pipe there's nothing to pick up the unburnt fuel. Which will cause the smell of gasoline!

I hope this helps. If you have any questions, Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 10AM-3PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

Re: I got my ghost cam tune from bama and bbk cat delete

IMO, a car running rich smells a helluva lot better than a car running lean. And if it is supposed to idle like a long duration cam, I would expect it to smell like a gas station.

Man perfume.

Yeah, and people asking you why it smells funny. You know a true car guy when they get in the car that still reeks of fuel and say "it smells good in here." LOL I swear I've had people say it!

I was once at a light about 2 months ago, and I noticed that every time I hit the gas just a little, the lady behind me kept wafting the "horrible smell" away from her nose with a disgusted look lol.

Wasn't trying to be a dick but it was kinda funny nonetheless

Yes while idling you will see a loss mpg, and around town with stop and go because of the extra overlap and the added of fuel that is being dumped (thats the extra rich and fuel smell). But when you are on a hwy it should be the same mpg's as it was with a non cammed tune tune

I'm really sorry about the CEL. Occasionally there are errors because we hand write each tune. I'm confident my Bama team will fix it quickly! Majority of the time, its Small human error when filing your tune information form or by a Bama Member!

I've already shot your information over to my head tuning specialist Mike Wilson who will be contact you this afternoon!

I appreciate your patience while we get you taken care of!
