A bad week for my mustang.

Mostly me needing to vent, first this week a piece of metal flies off a truck and hits the hood. Now today a car pulls into my lane, I swerved to miss him and I curb check the crap out of the rim and tire. It's a 2013 gt with track pack. I did buy the tire and rim ins. by the Ford dealership. So I hope they replace them. I will talk to the bodyshop about the hood.

That sucks.. Will be interesting to see how the stealership handles the wheel issue.

Dude, sorry to hear the news. This is why I have a GoPro on my dash. Best $300 spent. So far saved me over $2,500 in damages. Crap like this happens... you got it on tape to show to cops while you follow the a-hole who caused the accident/incident. You can see mine next to the rear view window in attached pic. It will be interesting to hear what your dealer does for you. Depending on what cost they try to charge you, labor to fix a dent is usually the most expensive part. They'd have to repaint the entire hood if they can't perform a paintless dent removal. If that be the case, you might be able to get an aftermarket hood for them to prep and paint for not much more than the repair and paint. Just have to see.

In case you got the 'road hazard', do NOT tell them you hit a curb. Curbs are not covered, you have to say it was a pothole or broken pavement, etc.

I was a Finance Manager for a year when I got out of college ( I know, car salesman are terrible blah blah blah). I buy that insurance, but only because I know how to get it covered. I have already picked a spot on a road on the way to work. If I ever curb a rim I am going to tell them about that pothole on my way to work

That does suck...I got caught in a hail storm a week after picking up my GT. Had 6 dent in the hood and six more on the rear quarters and the door. Found a great PDR guy. $200 later I was dent free. Now I am so paranoid she atays in the garage at any threat of rain

Of course, drug dealers make good money! It's the users that are in crappy parts of town lol.

You'd think that they'd go to the ghetto to do their bidding. And keep the violence away from their doorstep.

Dealership says its not that bad, live with it or pay for another myself. Their statement is that the tire and rim must be unrepairable for them to replace it. Took it a detail shop, they were able to clean it up some. Most people may not notice, but I will always know its there. No damage to under carriage of the car. So many crappy drivers around here that don't care about their cars.

Any pics of the damage? I myself had a minor curb check that made me sick to my stomach and had it repaired by one of the wheel repair guys

Re: A bad week for my mustang.

Sorry, I didn't take any before pics. Here's a pic after it was worked on. It's not so bad, but it may drive me a little crazy. Hopefully most of you won't see much.

Re: A bad week for my mustang.

It will probably drive me crazy enough that down the road I will replace it. I'll just save the old one for the garage. Maybe use it as a coffee table base.

I got the tire/wheel insurance too. I guess if I get one messed up I'll make sure it's unserviceable with a sledgehammer etc. before taking it in.

Dude get that thing fixed. Good wheel and tire shops can fix that up in no time for about 100 dollars. It reminds me of a half eaten cheeseburger.

+1 Had a guy here in KC repair a wheel and you couldn't find the rash even knowing where it was.

Sorry too, about you heartache. I also thought I ran over a section of truck tire a car in front of me ran over and it bounced up in the air and landed on the ground. I wiped the sweat off my brow, until I got home to look underneath the front end. I was in shock to see my front bumper smashed in and slightly hanging off / with the marker light missing and a burned out lamp.
Never thought the car would be the same again (Factory), but after $873 from a reputable body shop, I looks great again. They also recommended that I do-not get a new bumper and just repair the factory one. I paid out of pocket!!!! Also, while I was having the bumper fixed, I asked them to get rid of those unsightly factory front license plate bracket dimples/Holes. Came out great. Thank you L--d!
I was very sick for a while over this event, but now It has passed.
I hope your's come out looking like new. Good Luck,
PS - YOu might want to check that Front Passenger side tires air pressure soon!!

Thanks I'm glad it worked out for your you. It was a week ago and it was only 3 chips and minor dents that at first were major eye sores... I got the dents out myself, and just touched up the chips, it bothered me more last week, but now I can barely see it now, the touch up paint I got made for me was spot on and now I'm pretty happy with it... again, I'm a fanatic and like my car to look pristine always since its my weekend car when the weather is good, some ppl think I'm nuts but to each their own
