Plastic shavings

2013 mustang gt w/ 1600 miles.

K&N drop on filter and gt500 axle back.

I checked my oil yesterday to see how it was doing and when I pulled out the dipstick it had a long(bout 1/2") piece of plastic, black in color, attached to it. Wiped it off. Checked again and found another piece slightly smaller. Checked again and found some even smaller pieces.
Called up the dealership and he told me to get the oil changed.
Changed the oil and could not find anymore pieces of plastic. Not even in the filter.
I will be checking it constantly to see If can find anymore.
I'm just scared it is something serious.

Any thoughts on this or has anybody heard of this ever happening?

You sure about that? I've heard a few people say that it's been proven to actually lose power over the Motorcraft filters.

You did the right thing by changing the oil, but I have no idea what those plastic shavings could have been. There really isn't anything on that side of the engine that's plastic ...

Re: Plastic shavings

Its not the plastic shoulder on the dipstick is it??,,I dont know about the 5.0,,but some dipsticks have a plastic part under the handle,,sometimes with a o ring on it that seals the stick when you push it down into the sleeve
