Not yet, it started raining. I'm thinking about painting more stuff, maybe the engine cover. I wonder how it would look completely black.

Yeah, don't get carried away. It's easy to go all Willie nilly when painting in the engine bay. Lol, sorry about the Willie nilly part, I just really wanted to say that... WILLIE NILLY! Ok, I'm done.

Strut bar would work. Maybe I'll try that.

Re: Coil cover

I'm going for the black racing look also. I'm not crazy about the chrome accent rings on the engine cover. I'm either gonna paint 'em black or a matte gray. I may paint the intake manifold black also. Yours looks good.

Love the coil covers. Those are the aluminum FRPP ones, right?

The chrome will look sweet.

I would like to paint my strut bar.... Should I sand and prime, or just clean and paint?

For the strutbar its hard to say since it's already painted silver with a clearcoat... I did the coil covers that way since they were just a plain gray with no shine and they've held up pretty good so far... The actual strutbar I tried plastidip just to see what they look like. But if u already know u like black, I would suggest doing it the right way and get it powdercoated... This pic is just plastidip

Automotivetouchup.com is where I got my race red paint which I bought the primer, basecoat, and clearcoat. The site also provides instructions for a DIY job (perfect for a Sunday afternoon)

This is what I have sofar. I'm going to do a bit more like add a little green to the plenum and black out the "powered by ford" words but for now, I'm done. Thanks for all the help!

Nope. I just cleaned, adhesion promoter, then painted. I sanded a little in between a couple of the paint coats because they were a little blotchy. It was either because I did t wait long enough for the adhesion promoter to dry or because I dd t clean it well enough but in the end it I was happy. In the pic you can't see all the imperfections but for my first time I was pleased. Thanks for the help! I'll post more when I am all the way done.
