Proper way to paint hood vents?

I want to do this right. What should I do? Sand, adhesion promoter, primer, paint matte black, matte clear coat? Or am I just wasting my time with all these steps? I know I can just spray them black and call it a day, but I wanted some input on what will look best.

Re: Proper way to paint hood vents?

I was in a hurry, so I just cleaned them with alcohol, and sprayed three coats on. We'll see how long they last.

They are functional. They are the 2013 hood vents.

Tommyv, I like yours, I might just do what you did plus a matte clear.

Yeah, with my cam covers, I just cleaned them with alcohol and sprayed about 3 coats. It's been over a year and they still look great. I'm sure your extractors will hold up fine too.
