Am I the Only Worried About How The 2015 Will Look (Exterior)

I'm frankly worried that ford will make the mustang too retro and go towards a futuristic style, which I DONT want! Ill be a European car for that. I want a classic muscle car! I'm just worried the Mustang, as we know it, will be consumed in 2015!

Slightly concerned but Ford knows its roots. And its customers. So I have faith

How can it be both retro & futuristic? I'm sure what Ford eventually comes up with will be good. Though there will probably be howls of protest, gnashing of teeth, and rending of clothes over it initially by the purists. Then they will get over it.

Ford rarely let's us down. The only example that comes to mind is the Mustang II. Otherwise every redesign has been as good or better than the last.

+1. Completely agree. Have some faith guys. Ford knows their enthusiasts and won't want to disappoint. Just wait, I'm sure it'll be just as awesome as any other.

That mirror is ugly as ****(is it a mirror? Looks like a reflection of a street lamp lol)
I'd rock that tho. I think it looks down right sick, with some more mustang in it... I'd be better

That mirror is pure concept car fantasy. I've seen almost the same thing on so many concept drawings & show cars over the years I've lost count--and they have never appears on a production car. The only place I've seen an actual mirror like that hit the street is on a custom chopper.

If that was a the final design (the mirror), it would die a horrible death within a week at home in the garage, by way of my wife's purse.

Or you would as a result of a lack of visibility.

no one really knows, its all speculation and guesses to drive people to websites to get more hits. Hopefully they will do a good job and time will tell how it goes. Its still to early to know any real details.

I'm no expert, but I am pretty sure it won't have quadruple gull wing doors.

Does anyone else think all these crazier designs are shooting around to make us all grateful for a more simple ft86 ish design?

You know this new 2015 looks like a 2013 fusion but longer bigger and a little more sporty. But the front and lights look the same and also the exhaust tips are the same. Just an opinion.

Already been done, its a similar shape body wise (front/rear fenders and door panels) but the front looks European same the rear almost Subaru/Toyota F-RS style but with 3 lights in the back (but I will say it looks much better than most of the other domestic cars out there!) Its a bummer though working for ford and seeing the mustang go from 70 boss styles to wannabe Aston Martin....(even though ford owns the design now) but keep in mind you will come to see most of the domestically sold vehicles (incl. Toyota Honda BMW Mitsubishi etc.) looking the same because there are very few vendors out there to make our headlights , plastic, and other non factory installed pieces! Thus the mediocre head units!

They already had the Pinto. Took a successful car like the Mustang based on the Falcon and turned it into a Maverick putting the Mustang name on a Pinto. They didnt turn the Cougar into a Capri. IMHO it was a bad move.

The opec oil crises and the epa, were devastating on the American auto industry, if it weren't for the mustang 2, I don't think we would be driving a mustang now. Drastic changes had to be made over night, and the pinto platform was already in place. They only produced them 4yrs, long enough to develop the fox and build factories. By the way, the 1974 MUSTANG II, was voted motor trends car of the year.

I lived through this. They didn't put their Maverick on a Pinto platform. It was on the Falcon platform as the mustang was.
Nor the Fairmont or Cougar. The Mustang III was introduced 2 mos before the crisis. The Corvette survived with no break in production. I guess we will never know but they could have kept the Mustang as it was and expanded the Maverick into competing with Celicas and Capris. As it was many moved to those cars because of the Mustang changes.

Psh, Mustang II who cares about it anymore. Were almost to the 2015 deadline and I'm nervous. Infact the 2015 Mustang is probably going to be the generation I'm going to grow a set and buy a new one. If they let me down, I'll just buy a 2013 or 14.

I lived through the 1973 oil crisis too, there's a reason the 1974 mustang II was care of the year. So, I'm not the only one that thought it was the right car for the time.

It was different, shiny new and got better gas mileage, but was a complete piece of crap just like a lot of other stuff in the 70's. Iacocca probably bought and paid for 'car of the year' just like they do now. The car of the year is usally a joke, go back and look at some. Chevy Volt, Prius, Dodge Aries 81, Chevy Vega 71, Dodge Aspen 76. I understand the idea that if they didn't sell enough in the mid 70's it may have been scrapped. It's almost like saying that rock and roll would not have survived if it weren't for disco.
It's just as much the car companies fault as the oil embargo and epa. People started buying VW's and smaller cars, but the Big 3 kept making huge land yachts until foreign cars started kicking their asses. Then they just put stripped down garbage motors in cars and called them better.
Everyone forgets that Ford was going to cancel the mustang in the late 80's and was going to replace it with the Probe, until everyone freaked out. Now with Ford's desire to make a global Mustang, scares the hell out of me and many others on here. Trusting they know what they are doing and it will be awesome is not really comforting to me.

I'm slightly confused.... I thought we were talking about 2015 Mustangs not 1973... Unless it's just me.. were not about the past. We are all glad you guys have your opinions on the Mustang II's. Everything has its time. Just like corvettes with 180 horsepower.. We all know it happened but I'm way more concerened about the 2015 Mustang release than the 1973 re-release by my imagination.

How can you be concerned about the 2015 release and confused at the same time. People are talking about why they are concerned which to some concerns the future based on the past. That is what life is. No confusion here. Tell us why are you concerned? And why do those concerns bother you?
