Thanks! Yea I get compliments on her all the time. I think the color is one of the biggest reasons I placed in my last two car shows.

So to sum it up, 40k for a loaded GT and around 30k or the base. Where you can get a loaded v6 for around 30k as well.

Not really, maybe if the world was full of people with perfect credit then that would be true. But there are too many factors to just up and say over 2% is bein raped. I'm sure there are any number of people getting 5%+. Mine is 4%, and its the lowest I've ever had, and the home loan I just got approved for is a whole percentage point lower than that.

Everyone does know interest rate is negotiable right? Shop around for rates and put them against each other. Dealership should be able to knock 1-2% off easily unless you have horrible credit. If that's the case buying a brand new car is probably not how you should be spending your money.

You are absolutely correct, at the time I did not know that interest rate was negotiable, and I also agree with you 100% that I should never have bought any one of the 3 new cars in the past 4 years while still keeping out of being upside down and am paid close to a year in advance right now. I am just so stupid for doing that. Someone please shoot me for being so asinine.

I was fortunate enough to negotiate with two dealers at once and got a pretty good deal I think on my new impact blue 2013 mustang gt automatic convertible with 19" wheels, reverse sensing and security package, and heated seats/mirrors. Msrp of 42k and change - $1500 customer cash, $1500 dealer incentive, and plus a complimentary car cover!

I agree... Just look in my garage. Would have been nice to just pay cash for a house though... I'll continue to enjoy my mistakes

I bought mine last week, used.

2011 GT 6-speed manual, California Special. Loaded up, sticker new on it was 37k. 9,400 miles since new.

Roush Exhaust, Aluminum Driveshaft already installed.

I paid $28,800 not including my trade, with the trade I got it for $23,000... WINNING!

Purchasing Information: Hope this Helps You.

I purchased a V6 Premium. The information here and the spreadsheet can be used for purchasing a 5.0. Just plug in the different numbers.

First go to: CarBuyingTips.com - complete step by step car buying guide

Read all the information there. Copy the spreadsheet and look at the following items:

You can use the several posted their to get the MSRP and the INVOICE prices.

1) Factory Hold back: American Cars3%, Foreign Cars 2%. Dealers are adding higher prices here, so they can DEDUCT it from another area.

2) Factory To Dealer Incentives. From the Factory Rebate. Don’t let the salesman tell you that Dealer has to pay half of it.

3) Consumer Rebates. Very seldom.

4) Destination Charges. This You can’t get rid of. HOWEVER, ask how many other vehicles (Mustangs) that were delivered that day. Since the Mustangs come from the same factory, their cost per shipping unit just went down, when they had three cars from the Mustang plant that day delivered.

5) Things that the Dealer will add in:

A. Tire Tax. Standard In Indiana.

B. Fuel Tax. Covers increase in diesel fuel.

C. Undercoating Fee. Another way for Dealer Profit. Usually $100, cost to Dealer $25.

D. Tinted Windows. Big Fee for Dealer. Dealer Cost around $139, Dealer Charges $349.

E. Dealer Prep Fee. Don’t pay for someone to take the plastic of off the seats and check the fluid levels.

F. Advertising Fees. (Ford regional advertising fees may range from $275 to $860).

G. Dealers Profit. Of course they want as much as they can get. You can always make it 2.95% or 3%. The dealers have no problem in getting every dime from you that they can.

Some things the Dealer will add-in and there is nothing you can do about it. They will purposely have heated seats installed, knowing that can’t delete it.

On my V6 Premium, they had Tinted Windows and Undercoating added in. They were getting ready to put a strip from the engine to the trunk for $600 and add in a Remote Start.

They didn’t put on the stripe or the remote start. The tinting was removed, I travel in the winter and usually vacation in Arizona or California. The tinting they had on would have been illegal in those states. I told them to take it off, they pulled the tinting on the windows and left it on the rear window.

The undercoating I gave them $25, their cost for putting it on.

If you are purchasing vehicle on the lot, don’t be afraid to go to another dealer. If they have the vehicle in stock, they generally are paying a floor plan fee. Dealers pay this, if they haven’t sold the vehicle in 30 days, the factory wants their money.

When the dealer started crying that they were hardly making any money, I just looked at the sales manger and the salesman, Looks like none of us have missed any meals lately. Last time I ever heard that.

Finally, this vehicle had been delivered on April 9th. Give or take a day or two. It was now July the 17th. I just told them, keep their car, order me a NEW one with only the options that I wanted. If they couldn’t do that, there are about eight other Ford Dealers in about a 50 mile radius. My credit is good and I just bet that any of the other dealers would have loved to order me a new V6 Mustang.

Bottom line, I got the car for the price I Wanted. I Really Didn’t a Thing about the Salesman or Sales Manager Hurt Feelings.

The Spreadsheet that you can download from Car Buying Tips.com, is great. All you have to do is plug in the numbers.

Good luck on finding your car. I hope this helps you out and if you have any other questions, drop me a line. Hopefully, I didn’t forget anything.

Edmunds.com has a good site to figure out what true market value will be that is an indication of about what it costs to get out the door with it.
