I know y'all are talking about 5.0s,

But the worst mpg I've gotten in my sixxer is 5.4 mpg, when I tuned my car for a steeda CAI, I was driving it like it was my job ;p

hey guys i have a 2012 gt 5.0 6spd manual, and im having this problem with fuel economy... car has jlt intake 3in x pipe with cats and a different axleback on it and i dont always get on it so i dont always have a heavy foot... but whenever i fill my tank up the fuel range my car tells me is little too low it only says around like 175 until E and thats when i fill it up and i always run in it down till the light comes on and it says 50 miles till E, is this normal and also that i do only city driving no highway, and my mpg tells me from 11-12 the max i ever got was 13... i do reset it everytime i fill up but it just goes back to 12 or 11... whats the deal here..

Yes, the light at 50 to E is normal, are you tuned?

One thing i don't like about Ford calculating mpg is when the car is not moving, it goes down. it's accurate when the car is moving, but if you're sitting in traffic and not moving you barely use any gas and your mpg goes down. i understand you're not going anywhere but you barely use gas. BMWs do it right, when the car is not moving, mpg needle is on max.

I get about 7-8 mpg city driving (San Francisco) but on the freeway I'll manage to get 25 on cruise control doing about 70-75, can get more mpg without using cruise control if you know how to drive.

I get about 28.5 at 70 with cruise control. Full bolt ons and tune. Averaging about 18 between highway and city.

Best and worst

Worst 19 to and from work (going through Pittsburgh, about 30 traffic lights)
Best 28.5 from Richmond Va to Pittsburgh PA. Cruise set at 70 on most highways, 60 on Route 17.
Typically 20 - 22 , which includes drag strip passes.

I just did a test a couple of days ago.
Drove to a town 30 miles away and back on a farm road, speed limit
50 or 60mph, 5 or 6 lights.
On purpose I drove very lighty, holding my RPM's below 2K.
Actually got 29mpg for the round trip. Traffic was light or I would have been pissing people off by driving the speed limit..

Yeah man... did pretty much the same thing today... 29mpg @ 65... made an effort to keep from advancing cam timing. It's hard though. There's no way I could drive like that more than once! LOL
