I want to give my 5.0 a muscle car throaty rumble when it idles. Anyone have any suggestions ?

Axle-back exhaust. I've got the Roush on my 2011 GT and it sounds incredible. It doesn't add much as far as horsepower, but it makes the car sound like a true muscle-car, as it should.

I really like how my Ford Racing GT500 axle backs sound - wonderful muscle car sound at idle and at low rpms, then sounds like a beast when you open it up. Recommended.

You're talking to a girl, statistically speaking she probably doesn't have a wife lol, but good examples nonetheless lol

All the above examples are some of the more popular options. I have the Roush myself & love it. Everyone's taste is different, so there's no right answer. I would suggest hooking up with the local Mustang crowd & listen to their cars so you can hear in person what the different options sound like. YouTube is a nice starter, but none of those really gets the true feel of the sound.

Baldeagle may have answered the question I was gonna ask when I logged in. How do I justify spending that much for Borla when I could be just as happy with Roush or FRPP?

If u want an extremely aggressive throaty sound go with the flowmaster outlaws or roush axleback
It will turn heads for sure
I have the flowmasters and i am in love with em

I have the outlaws. They sound great. Actually all of the exhausts I heard on the new 5.0's sound really great. It's all up to what you are after. A low rumble, deep sound, throaty sound, ear piercing sound, or a quiet around town till you get on it, or just plain loud from idle to redline.

Here's mine

From what I've researched is this

Bassani--nice conservative sound, throaty, deep, but not too loud but noticeable
Roush--kind of boyish obnoxious but not ricer status,
Gt500--quiet when you want but not loud enough to attract cops, stockish
Borla atak--what, what did you say, I can't hear you
Flowmaster American thunder--a step above bassani but quieter than outlaws
Pypes pipe bomb--nice aggressive deep tone
SLP Loudmouth--loud and disturbing to everyone out of car. The way stangs should be

Hope this helps

I work night work and they know it but they still choose to cut the lawn and bang and do everything else when I'm trying to sleep, so I like to pay them back with a cold startup at 11pm when I go to work lol

Just take it time they all sound good but a little different, like I said I loved the rouse and the price, and remember a new CAI makes the sound change, and there r a bunch of them to choose from (airaid)

I agree. I hate the sounds of the lawn mowers early in the morning on my day off. Setting off their alarms every time I drive by is my revenge

I would just go with the axleback the system isn't that much better and your still gonna get the same sound for around 200 less. Just my opinion
