You should leave the foam, it protects from dust getting into your engine.

What is it worth to you?
Maybe we should take this off general discussion, send a private message?

I've got one sitting in my garage. I'm in Houston. I can ship from work fairly inexpensive. PM me if interested.

Sound tube

I didn't believe that its sole purpose was to pipe sound into the cabin.
I have a contact in Component sales who confirmed with the coyote engine group that it is merely to make the cabin louder under acceleration cause customers were complaining its too quiet. I've been meaning to remove mine but work travel and home improvements are keeping me from it!

Why are you looking for a sound tube? Where's your OEM tube? Trash? Lol

I have one but I kinda like the extra sound in the cabin. But my exhaust drowns the intake engine sound tho.

For the people who have removed on or both of the foam pieces, was it that much of a difference?

Lets not continue to use the Tech and Talk forum as a "wanted" or classifieds section. If it continues, the thread will be closed.

Please PM a person if you want or have something of interest to barter. Or better yet, post a "wanted" or "for Sale" classified. Follow the rules for posting a classified ad, and all is well.

Sorry... it wouldn't let me post a "wanted" add. Let me know how and I'll post there.

Once you get 20 tech posts, it'll allow you to post there.

GT people--when you pulled the tube did it help eliminate the in-cabin drone at about 2k RPM with the factory exhaust? Sort of annoying me on road trips.

No, it will not affect drone. Thats your exhaust choices.

sithanas, I never heard a bad drone in my car at 2K with the stock mufflers. I hear more wind noise and tire noise than exhaust even with the GT500 mufflers I have on the car.

When I heard the sound tube the most was low rpm throttling. It sounded kind of like a thot-thot-thot sound. It was very annoying once I figured out that is what it was so I deleted mine. I am happier now with the sound of the car.

Interesting--not really hearing that, but I definitely have a drone at 2k. I figured it was more likely the exhausts but wanted to see what other people had happen.

Hey newbie!

1. Do you realize that you're quoting a post from 12-09-2012, 09:24 AM ?
Yeah about 3 years ago. I DOUBT he's still looking.

2. If you want to sell yours, sell it in the FS forum. Like I did when I took mine off!!
