Colormatched key

Was bored earlier and had some extra race red paint left over so I decided to color match my car key...kinda like the Ferrari and Porsche keys etc...Here's some teaser pics I'll post the finished product in a day or two...the last pic of the key the paint is dry to the touch...I just went crazy with the clear coat lol..

Yeah I dunno. I like the pony logo. I have a friend with a 2011 Ford Fusion and if I handed him my key and he mixed them up I wouldn't be able to tell which is which haha.

It took 4-5 hours due to me wanting it perfect I also did quite a few coats of paint and crap load of clear...but all in all its really not that difficult.. just gotta wait 10-15 mins minimum between coats ...

Go for it...some words of advice for anybody that is thinking of doing it...take your time and sand the crap out of the key before primer...I went with 600, 800, 1000, 1200 grit to get the plastic nice and smooth...

Now here is a novice question. What spray equipment do you utilize? If I wanted to attempt this project? I'd love to match my red candy metallic paint.

A few minutes ago while having Alex I was wondering what sterling gray would look like on the key glossed out!!! It would be cool to see color matched keys to every car!
