GT500s too quiet!

Hey all,

Recently added the gt500 axel back exhaust and took off the resonators. Great tone, but too quiet! Any suggestions for how to liven things up? And by liven I mean get the volume up of course I'm thinking maybe a custom 3" exhaust including an off road x that would run from that x pipe to the start of the mufflers themselves. Thoughts on this? Will it make that much of a difference? I'm looking at about 220 to get that done, but don't want to spend the money if it isn't going to make a big difference.

take your cats off. You'll be plenty loud after doing that.

That's my plan too with my GT500s but I'll probably wait til my warranty runs out since I'll have to get a tune. Gonna be a long wait.

Cat deletes are an option. Would a shop be able to do that?

Add a off road x pipe or just bolt in the BBK cat deletes. Either way you will need to tune if running no cats. Gt500s sound incredible without them. Good luck.

So that is the only problem, you think the dealer can turn it off?

GT500s are completely drone free so don't cross them off the list. People with o/r mid pipes say they are still drone free with the 500s on the back.

Roush Axle backs. They sound great but since I've added LTs
and OR X they are extremely raspy. The GT500s will quiet my exhaust down a ton. Ive been seriously thinking of putting my factory axle back on and having some tips welded on to improve the appearance.

Which ones exactly do you have? I'd like to look them up. Is a trade something you'd be seriously interested in?

I'm not too sure about cutting the cats off. It would cause issues with the warranty and it seems I would have to tune. The o/r x pipes would cause the exhaust to become more raspy wouldn't it? How would that work with the 500s?

If you pair up the GT500s with a OR X it won't be as raspy. The GT500s help calm that down.

These are the axle backs I am running.

I would love to trade my Roush AB for a set of GT500s. I know I'd be taking a loss with a straight trade, but I would much rather have them haha.

My only real concern is shipping lol. Where are you located? Something tells me shipping is going to be around $60 and let's say I offer you $160 then I am at 220 and I might as well buy them new from AM with my discount.

Stupid shipping.
