Is this too excessive?

So I'm in the process of doing new j
J&M lower control arms and noticed the vent tube on my axle. I figured it's a 2013 with 14k on it now (enjoying every mile), but is this a little excessive? Maybe they over filled it from factory?

That does look excessive. Have you opened the fill plug and checked the level?

Just checked the fluid and its perfect level. So I am assuming it was over filled. Installed the J&M LCA and it helped a little with the wheel hop. A little more controllable now.

It's really not that much, it probably wasn't overfilled by very much if at all. Gear oil is very viscous and a little bit will spread a very long way. That probably isn't more than just a few drop worth, it's too thick to drop off and obviously does not evaporate. Most people that believe its an issue have the exact same amount on their axles, myself included and I know mine is just fine

There is a TSB out for the axle leak. What the fix usually is is a turkey baster looking thing. But I wouldn't worry about it. As stated a couple of drops can make it look worst.
