Custom side (Boss style) exhaust

What I was thinking was completely custom now that I think about it. I would install an X-Pipe. After the X-Pipe I would have a Y-Pipe on each exhaust tube. One end of the Y would pass through to the rear and the other end would go to a cut out. Then I would attach the Boss side pipe to that Y where the cut out is installed. So is this just crazy?

I seen a set on breenspeeds email today. They brought the sides straight off the h pipe. Your idea should work too, just a little more work.

My phone keeps saying download unsuccessful. Just go to breenspeed, exaust, then mid pipes. Made by Ford racing, pricey but everything bolts rite in.

That is the one off the Boss. I am looking at doing fully custom, very similar though. That one has the blow off out the side, not the re-routing via cut outs, and I have a 2010 GT with the 4.6L. So i do not know if that would fit or not.

Horsepower is just numbers and a higher speeding ticket to me. How a car sounds intimidates me more than 800hp.

I appreciate what you're doing here, but unless you flatten out your side pipes there's now way they'll fit under the sides of the car, at least not without cutting into the unibody. that's why the side pipes on the boss are flat

Basically all I have decided to do is have the boss side exit pipes with a cutout. I will have two options when I am done, 1) run exhaust to the rear of my car through the axle back mufflers. 2) open the cut outs and have the exhaust run through the side boss exhaust. All via electronic switch inside the car.

If when you hit the switch in the car to run thru only the boss cutouts, it's going to sound like dookie. The pipes are small and very restrictive. They're only intended to compliment the rest of your exhaust. There could be the possibility of it effecting performance negatively. Good luck.

That's why I am most likely going to get custom tubing that is bigger but not big enough to scrape. Just keep the boss cat and the tip.
